One Another Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children, tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive; But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ: From whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love. Ephesians 4:13-16 The nature and success of a true church is by the care and contribution of each member to every other member, the supply of every joint and effectual work of every part. Only then can it realize the full edifying of itself to grow up to a perfect man and the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ and increase and build itself in love (Eph 4:13-16). One another. A compound reciprocal pronoun. One being the grammatical subject, and another the grammatical object. Combination. C(n,r) indicates the number of combinations of n items taken r at a time. This view sees each set of r as a relationship, not a reciprocal relationship. For example, if you have four items, there are six different combinations, or relationships, of two items: AB, BC, CD, AC, AD, BD. The formula for combinations is: C(n,r) = n!/(r!*(n-r)!). In a church of 107 members, there are 5,671 different pairs of two individuals. If you throw in a bunch of unbaptized children, visitors, and close out-of-town friends to obtain 225 persons, then there are 25,200 pairs of two individuals! Permutation. P(n,r) indicates the number of different permutations of n items taken r at a time. This view sees each set of r as having reciprocal properties, thus a relationship in both directions when r is 2. For example, if you have four items, there are twelve different permutations, or reciprocal relationships, of two items: AB, BA, BC, CB, CD, DC, AC, CA, AD, DA, BD, DB. The formula for permutations is: P(n,r) = n!/(n-r)! In a church of 107 members, there are 11,342 reciprocal relationships of one member to another! If you throw in some children, visitors, and close out-of-town friends to obtain 225 persons, then there are 50,400 relationships of one another! Lev 19:11 Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. Lev 25:14 And if thou sell ought unto thy neighbour, or buyest ought of thy neighbour s hand, ye shall not oppress one another: Lev 25:17 Ye shall not therefore oppress one another; but thou shalt fear thy God: for I am the LORD your God. 1Sam 20:41 And as soon as the lad was gone, David arose out of a place toward the south, and fell on his face to the ground, and bowed himself three times: and they kissed one another, and wept one with another, until David exceeded. Eccl 4:10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

Ezek 33:30 Also, thou son of man, the children of thy people still are talking against thee by the walls and in the doors of the houses, and speak one to another, every one to his brother, saying, Come, I pray you, and hear what is the word that cometh forth from the LORD. Mal 3:16 Then they that feared the LORD spake often one to another: and the LORD hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the LORD, and that thought upon his name. Mark 9:50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves, and have peace one with another. John 5:44 How can ye believe, which receive honour one of another, and seek not the honour that cometh from God only? John 13:14 If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another s feet. John 13:34 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. John 13:35 By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another. John 15:12 This is my commandment, That ye love one another, as I have loved you. John 15:17 These things I command you, that ye love one another. Rom 12:5 So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another. Rom 12:10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; Rom 12:16 Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits. Rom 13:8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. Rom 14:13 Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumblingblock or an occasion to fall in his brother s way. Rom 14:19 Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. Rom 15:5 Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus: Rom 15:7 Wherefore receive ye one another, as Christ also received us to the glory of God.

Rom 15:14 And I myself also am persuaded of you, my brethren, that ye also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish one another. Rom 16:16 Salute one another with an holy kiss. The churches of Christ salute you. 1Cor 3:4 For while one saith, I am of Paul; and another, I am of Apollos; are ye not carnal? 1Cor 4:6 And these things, brethren, I have in a figure transferred to myself and to Apollos for your sakes; that ye might learn in us not to think of men above that which is written, that no one of you be puffed up for one against another. 1Cor 4:7 For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it? 1Cor 6:1 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints? 1Cor 6:7 Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? 1Cor 10:24 Let no man seek his own, but every man another s wealth. 1Cor 11:33 Wherefore, my brethren, when ye come together to eat, tarry one for another. 1Cor 12:25 That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another. 1Cor 16:20 All the brethren greet you. Greet ye one another with an holy kiss. 2Cor 13:12 Greet one another with an holy kiss. Gal 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. Gal 5:15 But if ye bite and devour one another, take heed that ye be not consumed one of another. Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another. Gal 6:2 Bear ye one another s burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ. Eph 4:2 With all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Eph 4:25 Wherefore putting away lying, speak every man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another. Eph 4:32 And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ s sake hath forgiven you. Eph 5:21 Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.

Col 3:9 Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds; Col 3:13 Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye. Col 3:16 Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord. 1Thess 3:12 And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you: 1Thess 4:9 But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 1Thess 4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1Thess 5:11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do. 2Thess 1:3 We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth; 1Tim 5:21 I charge thee before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, and the elect angels, that thou observe these things without preferring one before another, doing nothing by partiality. Titus 3:3 For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. Heb 3:13 But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin. Heb 10:24 And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works: Heb 10:25 Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Jas 4:11 Speak not evil one of another, brethren. He that speaketh evil of his brother, and judgeth his brother, speaketh evil of the law, and judgeth the law: but if thou judge the law, thou art not a doer of the law, but a judge. Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. 1Pet 1:22 Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently: 1Pet 3:8 Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous: 1Pet 4:9 Use hospitality one to another without grudging.

1Pet 4:10 As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. 1Pet 5:5 Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble. 1Pet 5:14 Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen. 1John 3:11 For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another. 1John 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. 1John 4:7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 1John 4:11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 1John 4:12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 2John 1:5 And now I beseech thee, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment unto thee, but that which we had from the beginning, that we love one another. The Application 1. Every church member by nature is proud, selfish, and lazy. These three factors keep them from the commandments above. God requires humility, service to others, and diligence in our Christian walk. 2. Every church member has a comfort zone, which are selfish habits developed from dysfunctional parents, personal preferences, tradition, bad teaching, and other factors. You must get out of your comfort zone to be a loving, serving Christian. 3. Your habits must change. You cannot progress in your walk with Jesus Christ and contribution to the church of Jesus Christ without discarding your habits. All progress requires change. Change now! 4. The local church of Jesus Christ is not all about the pastor. He is only a servant to help the body do what they ought to do (Eph 4:11-16). The verses above do not read, pastor to all others! 5. It is a shame when a married couple talks to each other in the house of God, when they could be scattered among the congregation comforting, encouraging, admonishing, helping, warning, etc., etc. They should have used the other 160 hours in the week and talked to each other at home. 6. It is a shame when parents use the Lord s Day and His assemblies to talk to their married children, because they squandered the other 160 hours in the week when they could have done their meddling. 7. You need to go after every other member in the church, regardless of sex, age, friendliness, background, economic class, personality, likability, etc.
