YOUTH MINISTRY Jr. Youth Sunday, November 24 - Jr. Youth at LUMC - 2:30-4pm Friday, November 29 - Fundraising Fun at Colasanti s - 6-8pm, Cost - $15.00 All Jr. Youth are invited to attend the Aubri's Angels fundraiser. (http://aubrisangels.ca/). We are doing this as a joint Jr. Youth event with NLUMC. Parents are welcome to join the fun too. Tickets will be available at the door. Ten Thousand Villages Coffee & Chocolate Fundraiser - UMEI students have teamed up with Ten Thousand Villages for a great fundraiser for the holidays. Students are selling fair trade and organic coffee and chocolate from Ten Thousand Villages to raise money for their trips in spring. Memorial Sunday - The flowers in the sanctuary this morning have been placed by the Leamington Mennonite Home in memory of our residents, volunteers and supporters that were members of this congregation and who passed away this year. Our thoughts and prayers are with their families and friends who have experienced loss and bereavement. LUMC Congregational Meeting - December 1, 2013 The following motion, from the Leamington Mennonite Home, regarding the new condominium building project at 1 Pickwick Drive, will be voted on at the December 1 st LUMC Congregational Meeting: Motion: To proceed with the construction of a Life Lease condominium building on 1 Pickwick Drive which will be: Initiated through a $50,000.00 loan from MSCU for start up planning costs. Self funded through the 100% pre-sale of units. Built through a construction management process led by the Home, Glos & Associates and the supervising contractor. Approximately 35-40 units. With ongoing information provided to the supporting Mennonite Congregations on the process of the project. 5

Get Involved... Bake Sale - December 7 There will be a bake sale Saturday morning on December 7 in the LUMC auditorium in support of Ruth Wall Smucker. She is the sister to Erica and daughter of John & Elena Wall. Ruth needs surgery, she lives in the US, and there are medical bills to pay. The church is invited to support this family. Lights of Life - December 1 at 7pm LDMH is coordinating a tree lighting ceremony where bulbs can be purchased in honour of or in memory of a loved one. Funds raised will be used for spiritual care for families and friends in their time of need. See bulletin board. Library News... New Book on the shelf! That Certain Summer - by Irene Hannon Karen and Val are two sisters who were never really close. Karen stayed in their hometown and was the responsible one while Val left home never to look back. That is until their mother had a stroke. Val returns home to help Karen and to confront a secret she thought she left all those years ago. Job Opportunity... Part Time Employment at North Leamington United Mennonite Church, Custodial Position A shared position for 2 people working a total of approximately 24 hours per week. The position will include the weekly cleaning of the church, unlocking and locking the church on Sundays, for weddings, funerals and special church events eg. A celebration of Mary s life was held at the Old Colony Church in Wheatley on November 21. Mary was the aunt of George & Cindy Friesen. We extend our sympathies to the family.
