Third Sunday in Lent Psalm 63:1-8 Isaiah 55:1-9 1 Corinthians 10:1-13 Luke 13:1-9 March 3, 2013 Good morning one and all. A very happy first Sunday and a Happy Communion Sunday, as we break bread together in Jesus Holy name. The third week in Lent. Jesus continues on to Jerusalem where He will be wounded for you and for me. O sacred Head, now wounded, with grief and shame. What language shall I borrow to thank you my dearest friend. It was alone you prayed in dark Gethsemane; alone you drained the bitter cup and suffered for you and for me. Blessed Redeemer my all and my all, up, Calvary Mountain, one dreadful morn, walked Christ our Savior: weary and worn: facing for sinners death on the cross that He might save us from endless loss. O how I love Him, my Savior and friend! Come help me praise Him forever more. This is the third week and Jesus continue on his journey to Jerusalem, knowing what is waiting for him but He never say a mumbling word. What a friend what a Savior. Jesus knows why his life and his death are important, and He tells us what makes his followers lives important, too. Jesus prayed each day and He wants us to pray, because prayer is the key to heaven and faith unlocks the door We should pray asking our Father to open our eyes to his love and guidance, so that we may live in faith without fear, that we may survive the storms of this world, that we may arrive in our heavenly home, led by our faithful Captian, our Lord Jesus Christ. We love you dear Jesus and we thank you for everything. Amen Amen Amen Jesus continues on to Jerusalem, knowing what He would go through after he arrived there but He would meet his people. Taking this journey during Lent will prepare us to celebrate our Lord s resurrection on Easter. Dear St. Paulian and Friends, We will see that Jesus path led to the cross where He unselfishly gave his life for us. We will learn that we two are called to give ourselves as servants to those in need. Are you preparing to help somebody as you pass along, as Jesus did? Would you like to do something important for others, as you pass along? Do you ever ask the Lord, What would you have me do? When you think about all Jesus did for you does it cause you to tremble? Do you want to help people who are hurting spiritually? 1 Then draw near unto him all, the publicans and sinners for to hear him. 2 And the Pharisees and scribes murmured, saying, this man receiveth sinners, and eateth with them. 3 Jesus spake this parable unto them, saying 4 What man of you, having a hundred sheep if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost until he find it. 5 And when he hath found it he layeth it on his shoulder, rejoicing. Luke 15:1-5 Jesus prayed for strength to do what God wanted him to do and we are to pray to do the things that God wants us to do. 42 Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine be done. Luke 22:42 Hallelujah! Jesus had to pray and so should we. Amen Amen Amen Members from the Prayer Ministries will be available Sunday mornings after worship service in the Prayer Chapel for anyone who desires prayer for self or others.
