I am a cradle catholic raised in the Bay Area where I attended Saint Lawrence School for primary and CCD through junior high school. I was active in the parish from a young age as an Alter attendant, Eucharistic minister and young adult faith leader. I have experience working with youth in faith ministries. In my professional life, I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration and now manage a team of individuals in the banking field. I have experience in creating policies and procedures and in working with a variety of teams to develop and implement such procedures.

Tami Gutierrez I would love the opportunity to serve on Parish Council in order to become more involved in our Parish community. I want to assist in Parish planning in a way that brings forward new ideas and fosters all ministries that continue to help fulfill the mission of our Parish. I feel that I can assist in representing several groups that comprise our Parish. This past year was my neophyte year. My husband and I were married at St. Francis; daughter received First Eucharist here; daughters are in the St. Francis children s choir and attend St. Francis Elementary School. I want to serve our Parish community and its many ministries. We all need to do our part to collaborate and communicable in an effort to assist the Parish in becoming what the spirit of God wills it to become. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations Currently serve on the Mission Effectiveness Committee for the elementary school Girl Scoup Troop Leader Participated in parish events, i.e., volunteer dinner and parish picnic Most skills and abilities center around my career, immersed in administrative duties. For past 10 years, I have been an operations manager. Well versed in facilities management, loss prevention, security, change management, and general problem Currently managing a statewide project and focusing on our daughters, their academics and extra curricular activities. I would be grateful to demonstrate how being an operations manager and mother of two can assist the Parish in achieving its mission and continuing to be a welcoming home for many.

Margaret Healey My husband and I became parishioners at St. Francis a little over two years ago, which I realize means I m still a newbie compared to many! We love being part of this faith community, and it has become a big part of our lives. For me, serving on the Parish Council would be a way to give back to this very special parish, which has already given so much to me. I especially appreciate the core commitment that St. Francis Parish has toward serving the poor, and would like to be more involved in this ministry as a member of the Parish Council. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations I have been a Step Minister (Friday nights) for approximately 2 years Eucharistic Minister since August of 2012. I have a diverse employment background which has allowed me to develop a variety of skills that would help me be an effective member of the Parish Council. I spent 14 years working in the California State Senate, which was a very fast paced, high pressure environment. That experience helped me to develop good organizational and writing skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure. For the past 18 years, I have worked with my husband running California Emergency Foodlink. Foodlink is a nonprofit agency that stores and distributes food to food banks all across California, as well as providing food to over 100 food banks, food closets, and feeding programs in Sacramento County. Helping to run a nonprofit emergency food agency has strengthened my organizational skills, as well as giving me experience in personnel management, setting organizational and individual goals, and developing and implementing plans to meet those goals.

Colette McDowell I would welcome and embrace the opportunity to serve the St. Francis community. Since completing the initiation process through RCIA a few years ago, it has been my desire to be an active participant in the church community that my family and I love. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations RCIA participant RCIA Companion (2012/13) Eucharistic minister since 2012 Step ministry assistance a few times over the past few years Daughter participates in the children s choir and attends CFF Organization Reliability management Passion for continuous improvement

Kent Meyers The parish community is so warm and hard working in many ways, so I would like to serve to lend time and talent to do my share. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations RCIA companion 2012 Religious education director at parish level - 1985-1986 Catholic school teacher and principal - 1974-1996 Washed convent windows for Sister Wendolyn O.S.F. 1966-1967 I worked in Catholic education and religious education for twenty three years. I then worked in counseling and non-profit administration for sixteen years. I think that having served people and families for so long I have the ability to communicate and work with people to enrich their community and develop processes that organize activities and goals.

Samara Palko Reason for serving on the Parish Council I desire to serve on the Parish Council to contribute my time and talents toward my Christian Catholic Faith while supporting the established programs, ministries and outreach of the St. Francis Parish. I further wish to grow in faith and represent fellow parishioners by listening and sharing their suggestions, needs and concerns with the entire Parish Council. I also feel it s important to get our youth involved and I want my children to witness me actively involved in our faith community of St. Francis. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations As a member St. Francis Parish I served on the Annual Welcome Picnic Committeee as the Volunteer Coordinator in 2012 and plan to serve in again this year. I have also volunteered with the CLOW Program as a Shepard during Mass for the past two years. Outside of St. Francis I am 9 year resident of Midtown along with my husband and 3 children. I am involved in the following organizations: Midtown Neighborhood Board, Midtown Business Association Lubin Elementary Parent Teacher Board and Girl Scout Leader. Clean & Safe Committee, Sacramento Parents Group Founder & Board, David As a chosen leader by my peers in the community, in my work, and volunteer groups I will bring the experiencee of working in different capacities on various Boards. Actively being a part of multiple boards and groups has given me the ability to listen to the needs and concerns of others. Bringing people from diverse backgrounds, working together for a common goal and providing an environment where individuals are willing to grow, take risks and do for those in need is what I will bring to the Parish Council.

Andrea Peters In 2008, I was (figuratively) lost. (While I was baptized and raised as a Catholic, I had fallen away from the church after I had received my Confirmation and only attended Mass in time of need.) I was feeling that I was in a time of need and St. Francis was the closest parish to where I was living. That morning, it was my dearest hope that I could enter into the parish without drawing attention to myself. As I entered the doors at St. Francis I received a warm greeting and was escorted to a seat in the back of the parish (my preference). I attended mass that morning and felt that I had found the direction that I needed. (I cannot help but mention that I only received part of the message that I needed to receive, but I digress.) I did not attend again until a year later when I was, once again, seeking guidance. I entered the parish hoping to not draw attention to myself. Again, as I entered the doors, I was not only greeted warmly, I was remembered in the warmest way and seated in the same seat that had been my preference a year before. The feeling of coming home was so incredibly strong. I have regularly attended Mass at St. Francis of Assisi Parish ever since. Recently, I have felt a call to become more active in our Parish. To give back what has been given to me (and now my family) every time I (we) enter the doors of our Parish. it is my hope that I can provide the Parish with, at least, a strong back to serve our community, an open mind to help pave a path forward, and a loving heart to welcome ail those in need. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations I, currently, serve on the Parish Cleaning Ministry (Although, I will take a brief hiatus over the summer. My son swims on the West Sacramento Dolphins Swim Team and there are some dates that conflict with cleaning duties.) and assisted last year's Christmas decoration committee providing free labor. @ I, also, serve on the Our Lady of Grace School (West Sacramento) Parent Association as one of the marketing leads for the school. I have a strong skill set in project management, excellent writing skills, and a background in grassroots marketing. I am trained to facilitate meetings, review budgets, and analyze contracts. I am strong in my opinions (which can, also, be a detriment); however, I strive to voice those opinions with respect and integrity. I am not perfect. I have MANY faults, but it my hope that through my faith formation and prayer, I can do God's will.

Rose M. Richards I want to return the sense of love that I felt the first time I walked into this church. I want to keep the fire burning and give back to my parish family. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations Joined the parish in 1990 I worked on the sound ministry through the renovation and until we adopted my son. Started as a catechist in 2000 Taught in my kids classes through 2009 Worked in the Hospitality ministry from 2009 2013. Became a Eucharistic Minister in 2013 Assisted with ushering throughout my time; now a full time usher in 2013 I am detail oriented, organized, analytical, logical, caring, nurturing and tend to put others needs before my own.

Parish activities, ministries, and organizations Tim Schmelzer I desire to become more involved in the Parish and believe my skills would be a good match for the Parish Council. I have been a parishioner at St. Francis for nearly 7 years. In those years, I have been married, had 2 children baptized, and a daughter receive her 1 st communion at the church. I also have my 2 daughters enrolled in Faith Formation classes. In short, I believe it s my time to give back to so I may repay all of the wonderful things St. Francis has given me. I have been a volunteer for the Little Lambs ministry for about 6 years. I m also going to be training to become a Communion Minister. I work as a lobbyist for Wine Institute. I believe my problem solving and communication skills that are part and parcel of this work would be an excellent match for serving on the Council. I am used to working with people of diverse interests in search of a common goal. I also have excellent public speaking and organizational skills.

Lonny Villalobos I have always held a passion for the church and service to God. I am at a point in my life where I have an established career, family, and the personal qualities that I believe would contribute positively to the St. Francis community. I felt a personal calling to apply when the request initially came out inquiring parishioners to apply for Parish Council. I adore St. Francis Parish and the church has helped renew and strengthen my own faith in God. I originally felt called to the church community through its overwhelming love and open arms for all. I would like to help maintain that love and sense of welcome for all. I look forward to being able to give to the Parish what it has given me; faith, hope, and charity. Parish activities, ministries, and organizations I have been a parishioner of St. Francis Church since 2009. I met my wife in 2009 and we later married at St. Francis in July of 2012. Although a parishioner for many years, we together have been active in the church for the last two years. In the past year, we both became Eucharistic Ministers serving at the 12:00 mass on the last Sunday of the month. When we chose to get married, we promised ourselves that God and the church would be the heart of our marriage and family. St. Francis will always be our parish and we look forward to one day baptizing our children and seeing them form their own faith within the walls that strengthened our personal love for each other; a love rooted deeply in our faith in God. St. Francis is special to both of us and we are always here to help however we can. In my professional life I have invested twelve years in K 12 public school education as a teacher and administrator. I am currently a K 12 public school educational administrator, serving in the role of Elementary Principal. I am responsible for serving the diverse needs of many students, staff, and families. I have the skills to successfully lead a group of individuals toward their stated mission. I have the leadership experience and education that would be beneficial to the council and help strengthen the St. Francis community; bringing us closer toward our overall mission.
