Vibrant Nights 2 1 st July 2014 3 rd Ramadan Ar Rahmaan Allah is more merciful to us than our own selves. His Mercy encompasses all His creation whether in the heavens, earth, humans, insects, animals, fish, etc. Surah Taha: 5 The Most Merciful [who is] above the Throne established. Ar Rahmaan this is the Name He called Himself. By this beautiful and vast name, He rose over the vast and the biggest creation of Allah His Throne. He didn t say the Most Powerful rose over the throne. Even in a place of power and majesty, the name Ar Rahmaan is mentioned. He is Ar Rahmaan, He will never ever be unjust to you. Surah Taha:109 That Day, no intercession will benefit except [that of] one to whom the Most Merciful has given permission and has accepted his word. On the Day of Judgment, everyone will see the truth, everyone will stand in front of Allah on that day. There will be intercession on that day, but the intercession will not benefit except if there are 2 conditions: 1. If Allah ArRahmaan, the One full of Mercy, will give permission for the intercession. 2. If Allah accepts the word of the one making intercession. This makes us feel at ease, that no intercession will be allowed except when the Most Merciful will give permission. Surah Furqaan: 59
He who created the heavens and the earth and what is between them in six days and then established Himself above the Throne - the Most Merciful, so ask about Him one well informed. Allah created the Heavens and the Earth and what is between them in 6 days then He rose over the throne. Then Allah mentions the name Ar Rahmaan. He was Most Merciful, even before the creation of Adam (alaihis salam), of any human. Even before I was born, Allah was merciful to me. Allah made me and you exist by His mercy, He provides for us by His mercy. He is the Nurturer, Sustainer. He nurtures and sustains with Mercy. Surah Furqaan:60 And when it is said to them, "Prostrate to the Most Merciful," they say, "And what is the Most Merciful? Should we prostrate to that which you order us?" And it increases them in aversion. If it is said to the disbeliever, prostrate to Ar Rahmaan, they don t. They argue instead. They were not familiar with this name. They would ask, what is this Ar Rahmaan, do you expect us to prostrate to whatever you order us? Even though they are living and existing, and eating and drinking because of Ar Rahmaan. Surah Furqaan: 63
And the servants of the Most Merciful are those who walk upon the earth easily, and when the ignorant address them [harshly], they say [words of] peace, Ibaadur Rahmaan, the slaves of the Most Merciful. Just this name itself gives us so much hope, so much mercy. The behavior of the slaves of the Most Merciful is such that they are very gentle, even to the earth. Because the mercy of Allah descends upon them. They don t want to harm the earth, which is a non-living thing! So imagine how they deal with people? When the ignorant people talk to them, they will say salam, I don t want to disturb you, nor hurt you, this is none of my business. I will not say anything except salam. They reach this behavior only and only by the mercy of Ar Rahmaan. As we know in a hadeeth, that Allah is the way we think about Him. Think about Allah s Mercy, if He is merciful for the disbelievers, then what about one who is believing in Him, praying, fasting, doing good deeds. So never ever despair from His mercy. In your heart, lose hope in yourself, and think, I can t change myself except by attaching to Ar Rahmaan. No one reaches anything by his power and abilities. It is only by the Mercy of Allah. If you want success, to change your behavior, attach to Rahmatullah, Allah s Mercy. Surah Zukhruf: 36 And whoever is blinded from remembrance of the Most Merciful - We appoint for him a devil, and he is to him a companion. The remembrance of Ar Rahmaan gives you protection in the dunya. So the one who is blinded and doesn t remember Ar Rahmaan, a Shaytaan is assigned to him, who becomes his companion, his partner. Remember the mercy of Allah because everything you can see in your surroundings, tells you that Allah is Arrahmaan. Look at yourself, the heavens, the earth, all the blessings of Allah, you will see Arrahmaan. If a person is blind, he cannot see the Mercy of Allah. Be sensitive to the mercy of Allah. Don t give up, don t lose hope in His Mercy.
Surah Yaseen: 11 You can only warn one who follows the message and fears the Most Merciful unseen. So give him good tidings of forgiveness and noble reward. Who is the one benefitting from the Quran? 1. The one who follows the remembrance, the recitation. 2. And who fears Ar Rahmaan unseen. We think with fear, another name of Allah should be mentioned. But Allah says Ar Rahmaan. This by itself is the mercy of Allah. They fear Allah bil ghayb. They can t see Allah, but they still fear Him. And this is from the mercy of Allah. We won t even be able to pray if we could see Allah, because we would be overwhelmed. When we are told to fear the Most Merciful, it gives us hope and fear at the same time. Because fearing Allah is by itself a mercy. Surah Yaseen: 15 They said, "You are not but human beings like us, and the Most Merciful has not revealed a thing. You are only telling lies." The disbelievers are always belying and denying the messengers. They said to their messengers, you are just humans like us. You don t have any advantage over us. And Ar Rahmaan has not revealed anything. By this, they are contradicting themselves. They are using the word Ar Rahmaan, but they don t see that Ar Rahmaan sends all that is good, His mercy descends on His creation, He sent the books, the messengers.
Surah Yaseen: 23 Should I take other than Him [false] deities [while], if the Most Merciful intends for me some adversity, their intercession will not avail me at all, nor can they save me? If Ar Rahmaan wants to harm me, no false deities, no one can help me. La Ilaaha IllAllah. Even any harm in my life, sicknesses, trials, problems, even this is a mercy from Allah. Allah wants us to go to jannah. So what is the use of all other gods? They can t intercede for me, can t save me, so why should I attach to anyone except Allah? Surah Naba: 37 [From] the Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Most Merciful. They possess not from Him [authority for] speech. The Lord, Nurturer, Reformer of the heavens and the earth, and what is between them, He is Ar Rahmaan. So you are being nurtured, reformed, and taken care of by Ar Rahmaan, the Most Merciful. Surah Naba: 38 The Day that the Spirit and the angels will stand in rows, they will not speak except for one whom the Most Merciful permits, and he will say what is correct.
Again, Allah mentions the Name Ar Rahmaan when He mentions about the Day of Judgment. All the angels will stand in rows, and be silent, except who Ar Rahmaan permits. Allah has 100 parts of mercy, and only 1 part descends in the dunya. And 99 parts He has kept for the Day of Judgment. Surah Mulk: 3 [And] who created seven heavens in layers. You do not see in the creation of the Most Merciful any inconsistency. So return [your] vision [to the sky]; do you see any breaks? The One who created the seven heavens, one on top of the other. You will not see any difference, any faults in the Creation of Ar Rahmaan. Every creation He created by mercy. The seven heavens are created by mercy. You are created by mercy. Even if someone is blind, deaf, actually this is a mercy of Allah. Surah Mulk: 19 Do they not see the birds above them with wings outspread and [sometimes] folded in? None holds them [aloft] except the Most Merciful. Indeed He is, of all things, Seeing. Look at the birds, how they are flying. This is the mercy of Allah that makes them fly. We are walking, talking, standing, writing, running. All these movements are from the mercy of Ar Rahmaan. Every action. Surah Mulk: 20
Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion. Is there any army that can give you a victory besides Ar Rahmaan? Is there anyone who can have more mercy on you than Ar Rahman? If Allah doesn t allow you to get mercy, no one in the world can give you mercy, not even your own self. Don t think it is very easy to be merciful, to give and get it. You need to believe in Allah s mercy, have hope in Allah s mercy, and He will give you from His mercy. Just don t take anyone as a helper, supporter besides Ar Rahmaan. Remember, La Rahmaana illallah. No one is the most merciful except Allah. Surah Mulk: 29 Say, "He is the Most Merciful; we have believed in Him, and upon Him we have relied. And you will [come to] know who it is that is in clear error." The One who you need to believe in, trust in, rely on is Ar Rahmaan. Believe that no one will give you mercy except Him. If you rely on anyone else, they will betray you. May Allah have mercy on us, be pleased with us, accept from us and never deprive us from His Mercy Ameen.
