BLUETTE PUCHNER Psalm 100:2 Serve the Lord with gladness: come before him with joyful song. At each retreat someone will ask, what does Koinonia mean? Our response is usually one word Community. It sounds simple but, for me, it s so much more than one word can express. Father Martin Pable in his book, Remaining Catholic, states: God s plan is for people to find blessedness, happiness and union with God not merely as individuals but as part of a community. St. Paul tells us in 1 Cor. 3:9, For we are God s co-workers; you are God s field, God s building. Those statements resonate deeply within me when I think about all who are members of this family. Our retreats are overflowing with sacrifice and personal commitment and Christ s love is so clearly reflected by your loving service offered to candidates, teams and to one another. How blessed I am to be part of this family. Pope John Paul II, offered this in his book, Things of the Spirit: Whatever you make of your life, let it be something that reflects the love of Christ. The whole people of God will be all the richer because of the diversity of your commitments. In whatever you do, remember that Christ is calling you, in one way or another, to the service of love: the love of God and of your neighbor. Dear Koinonia Sisters and Brothers, each of you has answered Christ s call. Blessings to you as we continue our service to Christ in our daily lives. Bluette We are Blessed to... KOINONIA #39 COMMUNITY ROOM LAY DIRECTORS Koinonia #39 at St. Joseph s in Rhinelander welcomed 28 children of God into the Koinonia Community. We are always amazed as we watch the Holy Spirit do His work of jelling all together to accomplish the goal of ge ng to know our Lord and Savior be er. God s love and joy were evident throughout the weekend. Laughs were shared when the bell came up missing. Tears were shared as our medita on speakers poured out their hearts and souls. Hugs were shared to show the love of God to all. Thanks were shared for the awesome team in the community room and for The Precious, Freshest Whea es who did such a great job of taking care of us. We thank our Lord and Savior for the precious me he allowed us to be together. We ask our God to forever be with us as we sway through the mountains and valleys of life. KOINONIA #39 COMMUNITY ROOM SPIRITUAL DIRECTORS What a privilege it was to serve on the Team of K. # 39. The Holy Spirit was working throughout the retreat as we prayed and shared together. Each Koinonia weekend takes on an "aura" of its own. Looking back at the time we spent together I would say "Unity in Community" was the blessing that was carried from the beginning to the end of the weekend. Let us continue to grow in love for Christ and one another as we daily spread the Good News always with the reminder that "Christ is counting on us and we on Him." Father Dean Bu rick, Spiritual Director Adele Archambeault, Assistant Spiritual Director May God Shine His Light on You... Each task was undertaken without hesitation and performed with love and a true spirit of service. What an incredible experience of cooking, decorating, cleaning, laughter as we prepared to deliver our skit, tears shed in our sharing, joyful/peaceful prayer time ~ all offered as a gift to the candidates. You are indeed, true disciples of Christ in action. In loving gratitude for your service, RaeAnne Mueller, Co-Wheat Lay Director Bluette Puchner, Co-Wheat Lay Director Thank you for answering your call to serve in Rhinelander with a resounding YES, HERE I AM. Our number was small, but our experience & faith made us a dream team. Each one of you were so significant and we know our puzzle would not have been complete without you. Morning has broken, and spring is on its way. May your hearts continue to bloom just as God has now called nature to bloom. We had some very special chapel times and those are treasures. Our prayer is that you will continue to love Our Lord with a child-like joy. Until we meet again, God be you dear friends. We ask you to continue to hold each other, our new Koinonians, our extended Koinonia family, and our nation in prayer. Missy Wiener & Pat Socha, Co Spiritual Directors
