MIRACULOUS MEDAL NOVENA/MASS The rosary is prayed at 6:45 pm every Monday before the Miraculous Medal Novena and Mass and also on Wednesdays in Polish at the 7:00 pm Novena and Mass. All are invited and encouraged to attend this beautiful devotion to our Blessed Mother on Mondays and Wednesdays. MOTHER S DAY ENVELOPES Additional envelopes are on the bench at the side entrance. All intention envelopes must be in by May 1 in order to be placed on the altar for Mother s Day. Thank you. CROWNING OF THE BLESSED MOTHER NEXT SUNDAY, MAY 1st The annual crowning of the statue of the Blessed Mother will take place next Sunday immediately following the 11:30 am Mass. All parishioners are invited and encouraged to attend the 11:30am Mass and participate in the procession to the Grotto for this beautiful tribute to Mary. SPECIAL CELEBRATION 60th ANNIVERSARY OF ORDINATION Fr. Joseph Szpilski, CM, a former Vicar at St. Michael s Parish, will be celebrating his 60th Anniversary of Ordination at St. Michael Church on Sunday, May 1, at the 11:30 am Mass. Following Mass and the annual Crowning of Mary ceremony, there will be a reception in the Church Hall for Father Joe. Please attend and extend your congratulatory good wishes to him. (Fr. Joe always says his heart is still in Derby.)

MICHAEL SCHOOL...The students of our school sponsored a Blue Change of Pace Day to support the cousin of two of our students, Lucy and Annabel Adams. Their six year old cousin,alleeah, is undergoing chemotherapy for leukemia and the medical bills are mounting. The students raised $357 for Alleeah and we pray for her daily....the Great Give! St. Mary St. Michael School will be participating in the Great Give on May 3-4. It is a 36 hour online giving event starting at 8:00am on May 3rd. Every gift will be increased with matching dollars provided by generous community sponsors. Many companies, like Pitney Bowes, match contributions made to schools. Please check with your employers to see if matching funds are available with your donation. Visit thegreatgive.org to help support our school....there will be an Open House every Tuesday between 9:30-11:30 am. Come and see our students at work!...st. Mary-St. Michael School is sponsoring a Foxwoods Casino Bingo Bus on Saturday, June 18. Pick-up is at 7:00am at the School with return to the school at 6:00pm. Cost is $30 per person. PRAYER SHAWL MINISTRY On April 4 St. Michael s Prayer Shawl Ministry brought 17 baby blankets, 14 newborn hats, 39 lap robes and afghans and 8 shawls to Yale-New Haven Hospital and the Smilow Cancer Center. (Thank you to John and Pat Walania for delivering them!) Please keep the Prayer Shawl group in mind while doing your spring cleaning. If you have any yarn that you will not be using (even partial skeins) please consider donating it to the group.
