The early Christian communities gathered around the Apostles, seeking more about the life and ministry of the Lord Jesus. Saint Paul told the baptized Colossians to seek what is above. Mary of Magdala went to the tomb, seeking to find the Lord s body so that she could anoint it. We come to church on Easter Sunday seeking many things. For some of us, this is a once a year journey, when we seek connection with the foundations of the Christian faith. For others, this day is the culmination of a long journey of Lenten repentance. For the newly baptized, this is the first day of a new life filled with promise and expectation. Whatever it is that we seek, let us be inspired by the disciple whom Jesus loved who, when he saw the wrappings of cloth inside the empty tomb, saw and believed. copyright J. S. Paluch Co. WHITE APRIL 5, 2015 What is Eucharistic Adoration? Quiet time with the Lord! Adoration is the act of worshiping God as He/She is present in the consecrated Eucharist. Since the Last Supper, when Jesus broke the bread and said This is my body we have believed Him: the bread is no longer merely baked wheat, but the actual living presence of the Second Person of the Trinity. You can spend time before the Blessed Sacrament, in prayer and devotion, time before the living God: the greatest devotion after the sacraments. More than 325 people spend time in the St. Bernard adoration chapel, individually filling every hour, every day and night, every year. We have done this for the last 16 years! God has blessed us for this devotion. Each month we need to find new people to fill regular hours and new substitutes. Please consider making adoration a part of your regular prayer life. For more information call one of the adoration coordinators. 6:00a.m. Noon Dorothy & Bob Grelle 876-5531 or Marlene Murray 876-2821 Noon 6:00p.m. Sue McHugh 855-4031 or Mary Powers 268-4734 6:00p.m. Midnight Matt Casey 876-2427 or Deb Thelen 866-3586 Midnight 6:00a.m. Russ Anzalone 855-3072 or Margaret Plante 685-2922 Or call Tom Murray, 876-2821, or the St. Bernard office, 855-9069 Thank you; you will enhance your life. ******************************************************* CARE & SHARE The Care & Share annual meeting will be held Thursday, April 16th at 6:00p.m. at the Senior Citizen Center in Gravette. WHITE EASTER SUNDAY HAPPY EASTER TO OUR EASTER VISITORS AND TO OUR FELLOW PARISHIONERS FROM YOUR RCIA FAMILY. For those who are not familiar with RCIA, (Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults), we have included a brochure in this bulletin. We urge you to share it with friends and family. Each year we welcome new Christians into the Body of Christ on Holy Saturday after a series of teachings and discussions on the teachings of Jesus Christ. But our ministry is far reaching. It includes Souls from all walks of life that are at various stages of their faith journeys. Today we extend a special invitation to those who have drifted away from the Church for various reasons, to come and take a look at today s Church. Others, like you who have joined our sessions have been pleasantly pleased with the openness, compassion, and welcoming of today s Church. A Church where the laity are no longer sheep but Shepards as each of us reach out to one another as children of God. RCIA is a door way for you to come in and take another look. We think you too, will be pleasantly pleased. In our brochure we extend a warm welcome to all. The teachings of Christ excluded no one and so it is with the RCIA. Forget about the past and don t look back unless that is the way you want to go. Peace and joy lie ahead. We call our sessions Our Journey of Faith. It is a coming together to walk the path that leads us to the peace that Christ has promised to each of us. We welcome you to give us a call. We would welcome the opportunity meet and talk about our faith journeys. Additional brochures are available in the narthex at the RCIA table. May Gods Blessings be with each of you through the Easter Season and in the year ahead.
