Page 84 HORIZONS Open Your Mind to Prosperity Starts January 10 Study a chapter a week at home, at your convenience, using the prayer statements and methods found in those chapters during that week. Faithful, daily study can lead to one of the most prosperous time of our life. Please sign up in the Narthex or return the coupon below. This book has been one of the best sellers on prosperity since it was first written in 1971. Many people have learned to think prosperously through the authors prosperity formula, and it has brought changes for the good into their lives. In the book Catherine Ponder is sharing her succinct formula for prosperity, which has evolved slowing over the years and which she gives in its complete form. Many success courses and books have been written, but unless you learn how to clear away the psychological blocks about prosperity (chapter 1), unless you learn how to cleanse your mind to make way for prosperity (chapter 2) and unless you follow this up by giving your prosperity a spiritual basis (chapter 4) just creating your prosperity first is not enough. The author quotes Charles Fillmore The Father s desire for us is unlimited good, not merely the means of a meager existence. We cannot be very happy if we are poor, and nobody needs to be poor. It is a sin to be poor. You can open your mind to prosperity when you realize through studying and applying the mental and spiritual laws of prosperity you don t have to ask God to give you anything because the Bible promises all things are yours. You can also open your mind to prosperity by following Moses advice to the Hebrews centuries ago You shall remember the Lord your God, for it is He who gives you power to get wealth. The prosperity secret of the ages is that God is the source of your supply. The author reminds us to remember that true prosperity includes peace of mind and health. In cleansing your mind to make way for prosperity there has to be a release of the old to make room for the new. You can unlock your good by forming a vacuum. Get rid of what you don t want in an outer way, because in doing this you form a vacuum, and your subconscious becomes a believer and it then goes to work in inner ways to manifest greater prosperity for you. HORIZSONS STARTS JANUARY 10 OPEN YOUR MIND TO PROSPERITY by C. Ponder Please return this form to the church office if you will be participating in this program.. Name Phone Yes I need the book $13.73 with tax PERHAPS YOU HAVE NOT REALIZED Our monthly weekly requirement to meet expenses is $3,500.00 Which comes out to $14,000 per month.

Page 5 CANDLE LIGHTING SERVICE Sunday, December 20, 5:00 pm From the glow of a single candle in the sanctuary, the room becomes aglow with the warmth of Spirit as each person lights their own candle from their neighbors and then passes the light on. We will purchase off the menu with individual bills. Please sign up in the Narthex so we know how many to make reservations for. GIVING THANKS SERVICE November 22 11 am BURNING BOWL SERVICE January 3 11:00 am Sunday, January 3 start your new year with a powerful, symbolic Sunday Service of releasing the limitations of the past and entering freshly into newness. This service will incorporate the rituals of the Burning Bowl. As we reflect on the year that is ending, we may find there are several past happenings which we would like to see resolved, completed, harmonized or forgiven. In this unique Burning Bowl Service we call upon the Spirit of God to cleanse our minds and hearts of judgments, opinions and beliefs that have placed a limit on our Divine heritage of happiness, joy and inner peace. We will make our own personal list of unwanted and unresolved conditions and let the flame of Christ consume them. In their place we remember our oneness with God. POT LUCK & ENTER- TAINMENT BY GEORGE WAYNE, THE HARMONICA MAN Saturday, January 23 5:00 pm Pot Luck 7:00 pm Performance George has been performing for over 50 years as a one man show. On November 29 we start our Advent lessons. Each Sunday a candle is lit along with a lesson teaching the true meaning of Christmas. The children enjoy making Christmas crafts and singing carols during December. On December 20 the Sunday school will have their own Christmas celebration downstairs during the morning service. A special visitor (big guy, wears lots of red) will also be stopping by with gifts for the children. They will also be going upstairs in the morning to share their music with the congregation. Please note that teaching the Advent lessons takes place over a one month period. If you want your child to learn the true meaning of Christmas, and have fun while doing it, please try to allow them to participate in all the Advent lessons. World Peace I see God in every face. Don t be early! Remember to turn your clocks BACK one hour on Saturday, October 31st before you go to bed.

Page 7 PET FUN On Saturday October 3 our sanctuary was full of pet lovers and their loved pets 34 in all. Beautiful dogs and cats came to receive a special blessing. The pets were all well behaved and enjoyed the blessing, but especially enjoyed the treats that Nancy Redilla had prepared for them. The humans enjoyed coffee and apple cider, cookies, brownies, fruit and cheese prepared by Nancy Redilla, Theresa Bieniek and Sonja Gee. Oh and the special cake for the four footed buddies. A great time was had by all. PROSPERITY BANK SUNDAYS November 29 and December 27 One of the causes of lack is anger, which also has a twin fear. This is especially true for individuals who have had to borrow money and play the game of catch up. The fear of not having the money to make payments is a cause for emotional stress. Individuals must develop a plan and put into work a schedule moving toward financial freedom. It is difficult to enjoy prosperity when a debt hangs over one s life. However the debt is not always money; there is a debt of unforgiveness...holding on to past hurts or emotional pain. This is a blockage that keeps one from enjoying wholeness. When thoughts are preoccupied with survival or paying bills, a lot of energy is required to compensate for the stress caused. It is very difficult for one to attract prosperity under these conditions. Through prayer and meditation we can liberate ourselves from this mentality of fear. Start blessing the money you receive, those you receive it from, and bless the money that must be paid out and those to whom it is going to. Let us know together God s unfailing abundance fills my mind and flows out into all my affairs. Thank You Father. pictures BIBLE CLASS Starts Wednesday January 11 7:30-9:00 pm TIPS FROM SILENT UNITY End your day with prayer. Give thanks to God for sustaining you through the day. Write down your blessings and experiences of the day. Forgive yourself and others. Release the events of the day and know that all is in Divine Order.

Page 8 NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION Sunday, November 8 12:30 pm If you are interested in becoming a member of Unity Church of Rochester, please join us for this program. ADVENT On Sunday, November 29 we begin a season of preparation for Christmas called Advent. This is a time of Spiritual preparation for the celebration of Christmas. It s a time of preparing ourselves for the Christ Spirit to be born in us again. The word Advent comes from the Latin word Adventus and means the arrival or coming of light. So we are preparing for the arrival or coming of the Christ Child - the coming of the Christ Spirit into our hearts. Plan to be with us this holiday season and take part in the love, joy, music and spiritual awakening that awaits in your heart. A TAX REMINDER Your love offerings are deductible.
