Richard S. Fowler Catholic Junior High School Weekly Newsletter November 7-11, 2016 Prayer For Remembrance Day -November 11 Let us pray for all who suffer as a result of conflict, and ask that God may give us peace: For the service men and women who have died in the violence of war, each one remembered by and known to God; May God give peace, God give peace For those who love them in death as in life, offering the distress of our grief and the sadness of our loss; May God give peace. For all members of the armed forces who are in danger this day, remembering family, friends and all who pray for their safe return; May God give peace, God give peace For civilian women, children and men whose lives are disfigured by war or terror, calling to mind in penitence the anger and hatreds of humanity; May God give peace.
For peacemakers and peace-keepers, who seek to keep this world secure and free; May God give peace, God give peace. For all who bear the burden and privilege of leadership, political, military and religious; asking for gifts of wisdom and resolve in the search for reconciliation and peace. May God give peace. O God of truth and justice, we hold before you those whose memory we cherish, and those whose names we will never know. Help us to lift our eyes above the torment of this broken world, and grant us the grace to pray for those who wish us harm. As we honour the past, may we put our faith in your future; for you are the source of life and hope, now and forever. Amen. Parking Lot In the interest of student safety, Richard S Fowler has made improvements in the way traffic moves throughout our parking lot, especially during the last two years. As student numbers have continued to increase each year, so too has the volume of traffic in the parking lot, and further changes are necessary. Now in effect: Richard Fowler parking lot will only support one-way traffic. Entry to the parking lot will be from the east end, closest to Boudreau Road. Exit from the parking lot will be at the west end, closest to Fowler Track.
It is the intent these changes will alleviate the congestion and frustration that arises during morning and after school drop off/pick-up times. After the safety of our students, Buses remain the first priority. This traffic flow change aligns itself with the Best Practices outlined in Safe Journeys to School Report issued by the City of St. Albert. Please be advised that if you are picking up your child, vehicles will be directed to the far west end of the parking lot. Alternate parking is available across the street on Fairview Blvd, Fowler Track parking lot, and at the Shell Station. By-Law Officers from the City of St. Albert will be present to enforce the new rules. This notification will be included in the weekly School Newsletter and posted on our website for future reference. Thank you in advance for your support in keeping all our children safe.
