PRAYER REQUESTS For those who have died and their families who mourn them Wilma Hauser FAITH FORMATION Dear St. Anthony Parishioners, I am humbled to be following in the footsteps of Sister Judy as your pastoral associate. Let's make a deal right from the start. I'll be sure to pray for you, if you will pray for me that through the grace of God, I may serve you well. I was raised in Ripley, Ohio which is 60 miles east of Cincinnati on the Ohio River. With the exception of the 4 years I spent in public high school, I have always been associated with or worked for Catholic institutions. I attended the University of Dayton (ran by the Marianists). After completing my bachelors degree in Political Science, I began working at the university. I served as a campus minister which led me to pursue a Masters degree in Theological Studies. During that time I discerned very seriously a vocation as a Marianist brother/priest. Eventually, I met and married my wife Kate and we celebrated our 25th anniversary this past October. Leaving the University of Dayton, I went to work in parish ministry, leading RCIA, youth group, social justice, confirmation, and many other ministries. I returned to higher education, working at Chatfield College and then Xavier University. My primary duties were in the areas of marketing, recruitment, admissions, financial aid, and academic advising, but I found great satisfaction in taking on additional roles in student services and campus ministry. I also taught college courses in Understanding Catholicism, Faith & Justice, Ecumenical Traveling Class, Introduction to Theology, and Career Planning. Success in the area of marketing and enrollment led me to work as a consultant. Eventually, I joined the Institute for School and Parish Development (ISPD) head quartered in New Orleans. As a consultant for ISPD, I worked with parishes, schools, and dioceses around the country on bringing more people into our schools and parishes. After 5 years of travelling, I wanted to spend more time with Kate and my three sons, and so I went back into higher education. My last position was as Vice President for Enrollment at St. Ambrose University which brought me to the Quad Cities. When I left St. Ambrose this past January, I felt called to do two things. First, I started Cooper Crossroads College and Career Coaching in an effort to help students of all ages find the right major/career at a right "fit" college for the right price. Second, I felt called to ministry, and as a member of St. Anthony, I applied for and accepted the role of your pastoral associate. I will be ministering through evangelization, RCIA, adult faith formation, high school religious education, and in other ways that I am needed. Together, with the Holy Spirit, I pray for success in our efforts to evangelize, celebrate the Sacraments, and build God's Kingdom here in the Quad Cities. I can be reached at davstanthonypa@diodav.org.or 563-322-3303 (church) 937-618- 0487 (cell). WE NEED YOUR HELP!
