AWAY AT COLLEGE/MILITARY The Away at College/Military Ministry vision is to embrace and communicate with young people who are in the military and who are away at college. As a volunteer, the desire is: Must be a Born Again Believer who has compassion for those who are away from home and family. Must have the ability to pray with, befriend, and be that consistent contact to that young person who is away from home. Must be able to maintain consistent contact with a person away from home including but not limited to birthdays, holidays, and special events. Time Commitment - Varies. This takes place every 1 st Sunday. Start2 Start2 is an environment where you can safely explore the foundational elements of faith while experiencing community. Working through weekly sessions together, asking questions, sharing thoughts, and building relationships all help each participant learn the basics. Activated We believe you don t get credit for what you know, but for what you do with what you know. This time of equipping helps believers get comfortable with living a disciple life. Leading participants through weekly sessions to share and challenge us to practical application. in Each 4 th Sunday individuals are invited to get an introduction to Our Place, the COH online community, so they are ready to connect and serve.

CROSSWALK Crosswalk Youth Ministry was designed to establish a culture of Hope catered to the youth where they will boldly discover the truths of God and His word through sermons, bible studies, and interactive monthly events. The purpose is to create a platform where the youth voices can be heard, so that they may learn the tools needed to apply the teachings of Jesus Christ to their lives. We invite volunteers with a passion for youth and the ability to bring out the passion in them. Time Commitment Crosswalk Youth services are every 2 nd and 4 th Sunday from 8:00am 9:30am and from 11:00 am - 12:30 pm. Additionally, 4 th Friday s youth are invited out to a time of food, fellowship and fun. In each of these environments we would love to have adult volunteers available to assist. To volunteer for this ministry, please contact Crosswalk@go2hope.com ENGAGEMENT CENTER The goal is to provide opportunities for engaging supporters not only at our physical facility but also to our online community. This team facilitates this in two ways. First, through being available to respond to prayer requests received during services that are broadcasted via live stream. Secondly, they seek to continually connect and interact with all visitors, members and attenders through systematic and coordinated follow up. Time Commitment Approximately 90 minutes at the 8AM and 11AM Sunday services as well as other special services as scheduled. FAMILY RESOURCE CONNECTIONS Family Resource Connections (FRC) serves as a Center of Hope liaison, connecting families in crisis through referrals to agencies providing services in which families have need. FRC conducts an intake assessment to prioritize a family s needs and refers the family to an agency that provides needed services. The ministry follows up to ensure families have successfully accessed services and the family s needs are met. The ministry assists families with temporary housing, affordable child care, food, clothing, school reentry for career change, and utilities payments. FRC is seeking volunteers who are computer literate, have excellent writing and excellent oral communication skills. Time Commitment - Varies. To volunteer for this ministry, please contact ewilliams@go2hope.com FELLOWSHIP OF DEACONS The Deacons of Center of Hope dedicated to the ministry and to the Pastor of Center of Hope. Deacons are bound to a promise to love our church and the people that God has put into the body of Christ. Responsibilities of the Fellowship of Deacons are to: Prepare and serve communion on the 1st Sunday of each month Assist with Prayer at the Altar or whenever needed Prepare and assist ministers with Baptism on the 5th Sunday of the month Prepare for Foot Washing Service Visit the Sick and shut-in and give communion when requested Time Commitment Varies. Our mission is to support our ministry through the promotion of volunteerism. Our desire for volunteers is to be a voice of Hope, live by Faith, and to be known by Love. In support of the vision and mission of Center of Hope, Ambassadors of FIRSTServe Volunteer Ministry recruit volunteers, provide training and development to support volunteers, and recognize volunteers throughout the year. The goal is to establish an archive of volunteers to enable ministries and departments to serve and assist in the common purpose of accomplishing the goals and objectives of our Senior Pastor. Larry Goodman at 323-757-1804 GRIEF SHARE Grief Share is a support group that meets weekly. You ll find it to be a warm, caring environment and will come to see your group as an Oasis on the long

journey through grief. Grief Share Ministry is seeking two (2) volunteers that will assist with weekly sessions by registering new participants, setting up the Employee Lounge where the sessions are held and participating in weekly group discussions. These areas include: o Greeting Team o Partner Services Team o Information Communication/Systems Team o Visitor Communications Team o Special Needs Assistance Team o Hospitality Services (aka) the Our Time Commitment - Sunday mornings: 7:15 am 1:45 pm. (team times vary) Memorial Services Ushers/Servers Do you have a flexible schedule? Would you be willing to serve two hours, on a rotational basis, and serve those that are grieving? As an usher, you would be available to accommodate the family needs at the funeral service, help with set-up (if necessary), hand out memorial folders and help with seating. This ministry is not just for seniors but for both men and women who love and love well. Time Commitment - Varies. Hope KidZ is the children s ministry serving preschool and elementary aged children. Activities are age-appropriate with flexibility for the normal needs of this age group. Our goal is for kids to see how God's word fits into their lives, to learn how talk to Him, and to build friendships that will last. Preschool serves children from 2 years through Pre-K. Volunteers work together in their unique roles to create a loving environment for our preschoolers to get a first impression of their heavenly Father. Elementary serves children from grades Kindergarten through 5 th grade. Volunteers work together in their unique roles to create a fun environment for elementary kids to learn who God is and how He wants them to live. Before kids head off to middle school, we want to make sure these three things stick: To make wise choices, to trust God no matter what, and to treat others the way I want to be treated. Opportunities include Lead and Assistant Teacher, Registration Personnel, Storyteller, Worship Team, and Tech Team members. To volunteer for this ministry, please contact ARoberts@go2hope.com or 323-600-1266 HOPE SCHOLASTIC NETWORK The Hope Scholastic Ministry is designed to serve as an advocate for our young people, a bridge to academic excellence, provide college preparatory opportunities, an extensive mentoring program, and grant Scholarship awards for those who exemplify a strong potential for academic achievement in higher education. Ministry members mentor students, encourage them to be forward thinkers, introduce to the job market, and encourage students to reach their full potential. The diversity of activities will be grade appropriate by graduation. The ministry s primary goal is to educate in order to empower our youth to make quality life choices, develop decision making skills and develop healthy, positive educational life goals. JOY (JUST OLDER YOUTHS) Center of Hope Senior Ministry, known as JOY (Just Older Youth), is open to all seniors ages 55 and older. Seniors visit the sick and shut in and go on outings. JOY members come together to fellowship, socialize, and enjoy a sit-down lunch together. Senior information and services are presented and discussed. LIFE GROUPS Life Groups are a small group of adults who meet regularly to pursue spiritual growth, accountability, and healthy relationships. o Men s Groups are made up of a mix of men at different stages of life. o Women s Groups are made up of a mix of women at different stages of life. o Married Groups include couples in the same stage of life. Also, we see Facilitators as volunteer leaders responsible for monitoring the spiritual growth of everyone in a Life Group and making sure the environment as a whole supports connection and growth. The ministry is called to visually package and enhance the worship experience by filming and streaming worship services, in addition to producing creative programming videos to support the Center of Hope and all our ministries. Live Production Create great worship services using cameras, ProPresenter, directing and other production equipment. Film Production Produce, film and edit videos that bring hope and inspiration. Stage Set Design and Build Create stage sets that bring the message to life. Photography Creatively capture church life through a camera lens. MINISTRY RESPONSE TEAM Center of Hope Ministry Response Team (MRT) serves with a global vision to connect and engage with people anywhere outside of the church. MRT volunteers seek to establish a culture of HOPE in shelters, nursing homes, juvenile centers, jails, missions, other churches, and to other parts of the world. MRT is a critical link between our Christian faith and carrying the gospel of Christ s love throughout the world. Fellowship, service, and an open heart to God s presence are essential in this ministry. As part of the Team, we look to share our fun, loving, family-oriented atmosphere with others as we grow in our relationship with God. For MRT, community is at the center of our pursuit of a closer relationship with Jesus Christ. Ultimately, closer to people, closer to God. Time Commitment - Days: Various days on a rotating basis (including Sunday). Worship service is 30-45 minutes. Responsibilities include Pastoral and minister, Praise and Worship, Guest services. To volunteer for this ministry, please contact RBurrus@go2hope.com Plan4Hope The purpose of PLAN4Hope is to help shape and improve policies and legislation for underserved, misrepresented individuals and families who do not traditionally have access to or quality assistance options. What are public policy issues? They are questions about which programs get funding, and how much funding. About whether a given group, civic or otherwise, should start new services, or change or even eliminate existing programs. PLAN4Hope seeks to inform, inspire and educate supporters towards increased awareness and participation. Time Commitment with varying positions available, 2-4 hours weekly. SPECIAL EVENTS/ WEDDING COORDINATION Are you creative? Do you enjoy planning events? Do you have a keen eye for detail? The Special Events and Wedding Coordination Department is just the place for you. We plan all the special events for the Center of Hope. We would love to have you join the team. Time Commitment - Each event differs in the specific amount of time it requires for planning, set-up, clean-up and debriefing. To volunteer for this ministry, please contact sis. By using various styles, genres, and forms of music (and art), the ministry s primary goal is to usher our audience into the presence of the Lord. Following the vision and mission of the Sr. Pastor, we are called to lift up the name of Jesus, and to make His praise glorious. During this portion of the worship service, we fix our eyes on Jesus Christ and the work that He s done, intentionally concentrate and centering all of our attention and affection fully on Him.
