Robles Junction Newsletter Three Points WAG Weight-loss accountability Group SEPTEMBER 2011 Last year, several community members, with the help of Grace from Graceful Touch, attempted to bring Weight Watchers to Three Points. Due to the high start-up cost, we were not able to do this. Lisa Wagner (also from Graceful Touch) and I decided it was time for Three Points to take care of its own! We are starting an inexpensive, cooperative weight-loss accountability group: Three Points WAG (weight-loss accountability group - lol!) Here is everything you need to know in order to get involved: 1. Meetings: Saturday 8:30am at Graceful Touch Salon FIRST MEETNG: Saturday 8/27/11. 2. Cost: Registration: $5 non refundable plus $1 for each pound a person wants to lose (up to 20 lbs). Weekly: earn $1 back for each pound lost - no continuing fees. When a participant loses their first 20 lbs (or their first goal), they re-register and pay the fees again. 3. We will support any weight-loss program a participant is using. 4. We will share tips/strategies for healthy eating and exercise. 5. We will share recipes. 6. We will encourage each other. 7. Weekly biggest loser competition: anyone who chooses may partici pate. Become a competitor by paying $5 into the kitty on one Saturday; the very next Saturday the "biggest loser" gets the kitty and we play again. Any diet plan that works for you will work with Three Points WAG! If you have any question or require any additional information you can call Stephanie Reynolds at 520-401-1511. Our first meeting is Saturday, 8/27/11. We will register, weighin, and learn how we can support each other!

We are proud to say that we have been approved by Pima County to serve lunch and breakfast this year. So starting on August 29th PPEP will be participating in the School Breakfast and National School Lunch programs again! We a very excited because as we all know students who eat a healthy breakfast do better in school. PPEP's curriculum has improved. Now all subject areas are being taught using the direct instruction method. Already we have seen improvement with our student's being engaged in their learning. We are excited to say that we added a couple of new members to our staff this year. Ms. Yago is a highly qualified math and science teacher, Ms. Griffiths is a new office aide volunteer helping out three days a week. Each new addition brings new ideas to our school. We welcome them and have already seen some of what they are bringing to the school. There a many more new things happening at PPEP this year and we would love to speak with you each individually about how we can better serve the community. The school's office is open Monday through Friday from 7am- 4pm. Please stop by! We are still enrolling for this school year and are offering students not only many opportunities to graduate but we are offering after school tutoring, individualized attention, small class sizes and AIMS classes to better help students be prepared to take a state mandated test for graduation. Students must be at least 15 years to enroll, have a birth certificate, shot records, and previous school records such as; transcripts and withdrawal forms. Stop by today and pick up an enrollment packet and we can start helping your student(s) graduate!
