Announcements for November 18, 2018 ADULT EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES SUNDAY Adult Bible Class This class, taught by the pastors, meets at 9:15 a.m. in the AFLC gym. The current study is: 2 Timothy A Letter of Encouragement. The 101 Class: "Discovering the Lutheran Faith" This class, taught by the pastors, is for those who are interested in learning more about the Lutheran Church, Epiphany in particular. This class is required for those desiring membership at Epiphany. It is held on Sunday morning at 9:15 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. The next class will begin in January! The 201 Class "Love, Joy & Peace: Fruit of the Spirit" We look at how to understand deeply the Holy Spirit's work of sanctification, to recognize our personal strengths and weaknesses in view of God s calling and to identify ways we can bear fruit in the Lord s service. Love, Joy and Peace will be topics in this series. This class meets on Sunday at 9:15 a.m. in room 207 of the AFLC. Contact Kevin Ayres, Jeff West or Rick Wolff for more information. MONDAY TUESDAY Ladies' Bible Study This Bible Study is open to women of all ages; it s a chance to gather together in fellowship and friendship. This class meets every Monday at 9:30 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. The current study is The Whiteboard Bible Volume 2: A Nation Divided to The Gospels by G. Allen Jackson. Tuesday Afternoon Bible Study This study, open to men and women, meets from 4:00-5:30 p.m. on Tuesday in room 202 of the AFLC. The current study is: Pursuing God by Margaret Feinberg. Contact Saul Pontifes for more information. THURSDAY LifeLight Bible Study This class meets weekly on Thursday at 9:15 a.m. in room 203 of the AFLC. This class will resume in January. FRIDAY Men s Bible Study Group This class meets at 5:30 a.m. on various Friday mornings (check the weekly schedule) in the main building kitchen. The current study is called Paul: A Biography by N.T. Wright. SATURDAY Men's Bible Breakfast The men of Epiphany meet on the second Saturday of the month in room 203 of the AFLC at 7:30 a.m. for Bible Study, breakfast and fellowship. ANNOUNCEMENTS BIBLE MARKERS The Bible Marking group meets the first and the third Monday of every month in room 207 of the AFLC from 10:00-11:30 a.m. The Bible marking process is very simple so come join us Monday, November 19 and enjoy the fellowship. If you have any questions, please contact Karen Daugherty or Elaine Woods. HOMEWORK HANGOUT High School Students! Come make homework a bit better with friends and milkshakes! Homework Hangout is every Thursday in 204 AFLC from 6:30-8:30 p.m. ADVENT MEAL HELP NEEDED FOR DECEMBER 5 Our first Advent meal is right around the corner - Mary Andrews and friends are hosting! If you can donate your time or food, there are signup sheets in the hallway next to the narthex. Our greatest needs are pots of soup or plates of sandwiches. Desserts are always gratefully accepted! PEARLAND HOMETOWN CHRISTMAS PARADE Calling all volunteers to assist with Epiphany s Christmas float as part of the Pearland Hometown Christmas Parade. We are in need of: 1. Helpers to construct the float prior to the event, 2. Skilled helpers to assist with electrical items prior to and day of the event, 3. Equipment for the actual float (truck, trailer, location to store the equipment, lights and generator). WELCOME CENTER MINISTRY The Welcome Center Ministry is looking for friendly, smiling faces to help guests who are looking for information about Epiphany! This is an opportunity for teens, ladies and gentlemen! Welcome Center volunteers serve a vital role as they are an initial point of contact for guests. The time commitment is one Sunday a month. Please contact Rachel Cloeter at mrcloeter@yahoo.com if you are interested. WASN T THAT A GREAT SERMON? Have you ever wished you could listen to a sermon again? Sermons are available online. Go to www.shiningthelight.org. Click on the media button, then sermons and choose the sermon you wish to listen to. This is a great way to access the sermons 24/7 for travelers, those who missed a Sunday service or those who just want to hear a sermon again. PRAYER REQUESTS Our prayer ministry is for anyone who has a need they would like lifted up to the Lord in prayer. If you would like us to pray for you, please send your request to Cindy (cindy@epiphanypearland.org or 281-485-7833) in the church office. You may also submit your prayer requests on the purple prayer request forms which are located in the hallway outside the main office and in the attendance folders. Please complete a separate request for each individual. Please obtain permission from the person you are requesting prayers for; not everyone wishes to be prayed for publicly. ANNOUNCEMENTS Announcements must be received by 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Please email your announcements to cindy@epiphanypearland.org. Hard copies of announcements can be faxed (281-485-5040) or dropped off in the box outside Cindy Eppelheimer s office. If this is a function to be held at Epiphany, your activity will not be published until a Facility Use Form has been filled out and approved for your event.
