THIRTY-SECOND SUNDAY IN ORDNARY TIME NOVEMBER 8, 2015 Preparing for the Year of Mercy Pope Francis has called for a Jubilee Year of Mercy. Our parishes are to become come islands of mercy in a sea of indifference. Our Lady of Grace parish is responding to the Pope s call in this Year of Mercy. On December 5 and 6 we will unveil our plan for the Year of Mercy at Our Lady of Grace. The Year of Mercy begins on December 8. The Men of Faith have stepped forward to be Ambassadors of Mercy for all who enter our church on Sunday. Our School is integrating Mercy events during the Year. Our Faith formation is planning special events for the year of Mercy. Let us take this opportunity to receive the Mercy of God and be renewed in our salvation through the love of Jesus Christ so we can be missionaries of Mercy in the world that has become indifferent and violent. Rosary Group Meeting The Rosary Group will Meet on November 11 at 7PM with Fr. Tom in the Office to receive the plan for our Marian Devotion for the Year of Mercy. Eucharist ministers Training The presence of God is eased by the holiness of those who serve at the prayer of the church. I will present a Spirituality to assist our ministers to have an eye and heart for God. Let us live a life rooted in God, driven by the passion and fire of the Spirit and moved by love for the community, the Body of Christ. Let us have an eye to interpret life in the light of God and the Scriptures, to see the spirit shaping the events of life. We are assured by God s history of faithfulness. All are invited to this time of reflection and Spiritual renewal as we contemplate Our Lord in the Eucharist on November 22 at Noon in the Church. After the presentation those who are called to the ministry may begin training. Lector Training On December 16 at 7 PM we will have a night of prayer and renewal in the Word of God. This night will provide a process of prayer to bring the scriptures to life in your heart. All are welcome to attend this night of renewal. After the experience of praying the Scripture with Lectio Divina those called to the Ministry of Lector will begin their application and orientation. Thanksgiving Mass Join us on Thanksgiving Day for Mass at 9AM. Please bring your baskets of bread and Wine to be blessed for your feast. Usher Meeting Fr. Tom will hold a meeting for the ushers after each mass on Saturday, November 14 and Sunday, November 15, please meet Fr. Tom in the sacristy. GOSPEL FOR THE 33rd SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME (November 15th) Mark 13:24-32 Jesus said to his disciples: "In those days after that tribulation the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light, and the stars will be falling from the sky, and the powers in the heavens will be shaken. "And then they will see 'the Son of Man coming in the clouds' with great power and glory, and then he will send out the angels and gather his elect from the four winds, from the end of the earth to the end of the sky. "Learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its branch becomes tender and sprouts leaves, you know that summer is near. In the same way, when you see these things happening, know that he is near, at the gates. Amen, I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all these things have taken place. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass away. "But of that day or hour, no one knows, neither the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father." 1

VETERANS DAY The Parish offices will be closed on Wednesday, November 11th in observance of Veterans Day. The office will re-open on Thursday, November 12th at 9:00am. MASS OF REMEMBRANCE Our Parish will celebrate our annual Mass of Remembrance on Wednesday, November 18th at 7:00pm in the Church. This mass has proven to be a very memorable liturgy for us who recall, in a particular way, those who have died in the past twelve months--as well as those who have gone before us in faith and in death. Our Book of Remembrance also provides an opportunity for you to record names of deceased loved ones to be lifted up in our prayer during the month of November. This book will be displayed in the church at the Baptismal font throughout the month of November. ONE WARM COAT ST. VINCENT de PAUL Please consider making a donation of a new or gently used clean, useable coat to the St. Vincent de Paul One Warm Coat Drive.
