The need for the foodbank continues to grow as this year from the 1st April until Christmas we fed 1347 people of which 622 were children. Your donations of 1402.06 kgs enabled us to provide 4005 meals for 445 people during that period. People come to the Foodbank for many reasons such as delayed benefits or working on zero hours contracts and just not earning enough money to pay the bills and buy food. They are extremely grateful for the support they receive which is only possible because of the generosity of Church congregations, local businesses and people in the Newtownabbey community. We delivered 300 Christmas hampers this year to those struggling in Newtownabbey. The response to our appeal for Christmas food was extraordinary which enabled us to make up really good hampers. We received many messages of thanks one of which said I m writing to say a very big thank you for the most generous food hamper received by myself and my family this Christmas. I am really overwhelmed by your kindness and the generosity of the people in the community. It meant a lot to myself and two daughters this Christmas. Thank you for your response to the items we requested last month. This month we would be grateful for Meat, Tomatoes, Pasta/Curry Sauces and UHT Milk. DEBT FREE We give thanks and praise to God for 4 CAP clients who have become debt free over the past couple of weeks.
