A NIGHT OF WORSHIP WITH FOR ALL SEASONS

THE WORSHIP THAT GOD WANTS: CARING FOR ORPHANS OR WIDOWS WHO NEED HELP AND KEEPING YOURSELF FREE FROM THE WORLD S EVIL INFLUENCE. THIS IS THE KIND OF WORSHIP THAT GOD ACCEPTS AS PURE AND GOOD. James 1:27 ERV For All Seasons (left to right) Jeff Luckey Emily Hamilton Johnny Hamilton

WINNING AGAINST POVERTY The worship that God wants is this: Children of the Nations children not caring for orphans or widows who only receive food, clean water, and need help and keeping yourself free hygiene supplies they are also given from the world s evil influence. This is an education, Christian discipleship, the kind of worship that God accepts mentoring, and the skills they need as pure and good (James 1:27 ERV). to grow up and help others. God s command to help the poor Our goal is to see children survive can seem impossible. But we are childhood and to help them thrive already making huge strides. Over the and grow into godly adults who last 25 years, extreme poverty has change their communities been cut in half. That s right: half! breaking the cycle of poverty. 1 That s a huge accomplishment, and it means there is hope. You can make a difference. Approximately 842,000 people die each year from contaminated drinking water.2 And about 45 percent of children who die before the age of five die because of poor nutrition.3 All across the world, basic needs are still not being met. But these are solvable problems. We can change this reality and at Children of the Nations, we already are. RAISING UP LEADERS CHARINSON AND ANTONIO Dr. Peter Schock treated a lot of children earthquake struck Haiti. The Dominican during his first medical trip to the branch of Children of the Nations had Dominican Republic. And afterward, 300,000 meals in its warehouse at the he felt great about his experience. time of the earthquake. But he noticed that many of the But to Antonio and Charinson, this wasn t children he had treated the year before enough. They both left medical school were sick again, often with the same and went to Haiti to share their skills. illnesses. That s when he decided the real need was to help train local doctors who understood the environment these children were living in and could be there year-round to work with them and help them get, and stay, healthy. Peter started working alongside two Children of the Nations students, Antonio and Charinson, taking them under his wing and showing them how to do minor surgeries. After he got back to Seattle, he started sponsoring both of the young men. Antonio and Charinson were inspired by Peter and their teachers at Children of the Nations to work hard in school and get good enough grades to get into medical school. Right before they graduated from medical school, the disastrous 2010 Peter raised money to pay for their travel, food, lodging, and medical supplies. Doctors from all over the world flew to Haiti to help, and Antonio and Charinson worked side by side doing amputations and performing life-saving surgeries. Many Dominicans look down on Haitians as a lower class of people. It is a testament to how we train and raise our children in God s love that Antonio and Charinson would risk leaving medical school to go serve the people in Haiti. Children like Antonio and Charinson have the heart and ability to make a huge impact on their world. They just need sponsors, like Peter, to believe in them and give them a fair chance. It is a testament to how we train and raise our children in God s love that Antonio and Charinson would risk leaving medical school to go serve the people in Haiti. Antonio (left) and Charinson (right) learned from their sponsor s generosity and passed it on to others.

WE WANT TO PARTNER WITH YOU ONE LIFE LIKE ANTONIO S CAN IMPACT AN ENTIRE COMMUNITY. YOU COULD MULTIPLY THAT IMPACT IN ONE NIGHT. To help these children, we re through their university education or inviting you to schedule a Night of vocational training. Imagine the difference Worship with For All Seasons. 745 new child sponsors could make! This means: Children of the Nations will provide 1. Providing the venue 2. Promoting the concert through your church s existing channels (bulletin, Sunday morning announcements, church website, social media, etc.) 3. Help us by underwriting all or a portion of the cost of the event, which varies depending on your location For 2019, we are looking for 745 new sponsors who are willing to support and pray for specific children in need, creating personal bonds that can last a lifetime. In each country where Children of the Nations serves, there are children who want to join our program but can t because they don t have sponsors. With 745 new sponsors, we could move these children off the waiting list giving them deep and personal care that lasts a staff person or volunteer at the event to staff the sponsorship table, as well as promotional materials. If you would like to secure For All Seasons for your church, contact 206-745-7932 or fraserratzlaff@cotni.org. Changing the world doesn t have to be hard. But it does require action.
