MEMORIZE #2 What do we believe about the Bible? We believe that the Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testaments, are the word of God and the only perfect rule for faith, doctrine, and conduct. All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. 2 Timothy 3:16-17, NLT Due Date: November 19, 2017 NAME Page 7 OT HOMEWORK PAGES

Read Building Block #3 (p. 22). ANSWER THE QUESTIONS God and the World What does this Building Block tell you about God s care for the world? God asks us to care for what he created. What are some practical ways you can care for the world and people God created At home? At school? How have you experienced God s care in your life? Due Date: December 10, 2017 NAME Page 8 OT HOMEWORK PAGES

MEMORIZE #4 What does it mean to be a human being? To be a human being means to be created by God in his likeness, free and responsible in relation to God, the world, neighbor, and self. Then God said, Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. They will reign over the fish in the sea, the birds in the sky, the livestock, all the wild animals on the earth, and the small animals that scurry along the ground. Genesis 1:26 NLT Due Date: December 17, 2017 NAME Page 9 OT HOMEWORK PAGES

MEMORIZE Psalm 23 (NIV)* 1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul. He guides me along the right paths for his name s sake. 4 Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever. *You may choose a different translation for memorization if you prefer. Due Date: January 7, 2018 NAME Page 10 OT HOMEWORK PAGES

MEMORIZE #6 What are the results of sin? The results of sin are broken relationships, a weakening of ability to obey God, and finally, eternal separation from him. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. Isaiah 59:2a, NIV For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23, NIV Due Date: February 4, 2018 NAME Page 11 OT HOMEWORK PAGES

Read Building Block #5 (p. 36). ANSWER THE QUESTIONS Sin and Consequences Why is it wrong to do something that is against God s will? Do thoughts count as sin if they are against God s will? Why or why not? What are some good reasons to avoid sin? Temptation can be an issue. What are some good ways to avoid temptation and sin? Due Date: February 18, 2018 NAME Page 12 OT HOMEWORK PAGES

WORSHIP ASSESSMENT #2 What do the song lyrics teach (or remind) you about God? Give an example of how what we do in worship emphasizes what is important (Example: We sing about God, which tells us that worship is about God, not me) If you were to change something in the worship service, what would it be? Why? Why is it important to worship together with other believers? Due Date: February 25, 2018 NAME Page 13 OT HOMEWORK PAGES

MEMORIZE #7 What is meant by a covenant between God and his people? A covenant between God and his people is an agreement in which God promises his care and faithfulness as his people respond in faithful obedience. Understand, therefore, that the LORD your God is indeed God. He is the faithful God who keeps his covenant for a thousand generations and lavishes his unfailing love on those who love him and obey his commands.
