welcome to worship God is here for you. Let us confess our sin in the presence of God and of one another. This time of silent reflection is an opportunity to open your heart to God s presence. Some suggestions for reflection are: Where have you seen God this week? What do you need to ask of God? For what do you need to give God thanks? A time of silence Loving God, We confess that we have turned from your way to follow our own ways. Forgive us for the times we have spoken or acted too quickly; we have not spoken or acted at all; we have hurt those closest to us; we have hurt those we have yet to know; we have made ourselves more important than we really are; we have thought less of ourselves than we ought. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right to give our thanks and praise. WORDS OF INSTITUTION The Sacraments of the church are God s gift to us. THE LORD S PRAYER Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever and ever. Amen. The Great Thanksgiving is when we lift our hearts in thanksgiving to a good and generous God. Send your Spirit with us now, that we may set the captive free, use your gifts to build one another up, and in everything reflect your glory revealed in Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord. All are welcome to commune at Zion Lutheran, an open altar is celebrated here. Children who do not yet commune are welcome to come forward to receive a blessing. Communion will be served in procession and by pouring chalice. The ushers will have a basket of empty cups. As you exit your row to come to the front, pick up a cup to bring with you to the serving station. You will receive the bread to eat and then the wine will be poured from a pouring chalice into your cup to drink. Put your empty cup in the basket as you return to your seat. If you need a gluten free wafer or grape juice, they are available at all communion stations. Indicate your need to the server. BENEDICTION The God of glory dwell in you richly, name you beloved, and shine brightly on your path; and the blessing of almighty God, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be upon you and remain with you always.
