Rountons & Welbury Gazette June 2017

Thy Kingdom Come Global Wave of Prayer From the website thykingdomcome.global Thy Kingdom Come is a global prayer movement, which invites Christians around the world to pray between Ascension and Pentecost for more people to come to know Jesus Christ. What started out as an invitation from the Archbishops of Canterbury and York in 2016 to the Church of England has grown into an international and ecumenical call to prayer. The hope is that: people will commit to pray with God s world-wide family - as a church, individually or as a family; churches will hold prayer events, such as 24-7 prayer, prayer stations and prayer walks, across the UK and in other parts of the world; people will be empowered through prayer by the Holy Spirit, finding new confidence to be witnesses for Jesus Christ. We will be having a special service on Saturday June 3 rd at 5pm at Brompton. It is an unusual service for us, with incense and prayer in front of the sacrament. It will last about 3/4 hour and include quite a bit of silence. Please look up the information online if you can, there are lots of ideas for personal prayer and family prayer. Best wishes, Jonathan Cooper The Vicarage, Brompton, Northallerton DL6 2QA 01609 772436 The churchwardens for the benefice are: Michael Nightingale, West Rounton 882435; Michael Dale, East Rounton 882517; Peter Walker, Welbury 882947; Joanne Hughes, Welbury 882268 Rountons Village Hall Community Survey 2017 The Rountons Village Hall Committee is looking to improve the village hall for preservation of the heritage and a community used building. We are looking for your ideas on how the building could work for you and your family as a community hub. We have a number of ideas but really need your feedback to make sure we are targeting the appropriate means of action in our improvement plan. Please take the time to complete this survey as the bigger the response, the more accurately the result will reflect the views of the whole community. Please complete the online survey here if reading this online or www.hambleton.gov.uk/survey/rounton The deadline for the survey is now the end of June 2017
