Rev. Mike Winters, Pastor Ben Harding, Music Director Hannah Grace Mullins, Youth Director Dr. Ray Jones, Jr., Pastor Emeritus WISE BAPTIST NEWS A PUBLICATION FOR MEMBERS AND FRIENDS OF WISE BAPTIST CHURCH April 23, 2019 A place for faith and fellowship with family and friends. Dear Church Family and Friends, The burning of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris has captured the attention of the world. It is an international tragedy and loss. What history it represents! What beautiful architecture, statues, paintings and stained glass! It all seems like bad news. The nation of France is numb with disbelief. Even if the cathedral is rebuilt, it will not be the same. And yet support has poured in from all over the world. It is an occasion to think about what Notre Dame stands for. It is a monument to the grandeur and majesty of God. It is a testimony to something and Someone far greater than us. The Bible tells us in I Peter 2 that Jesus is the precious cornerstone for the church, living stones made into a spiritual house. I am so thankful for the wonderful church building we have at Wise Baptist Church. I am thankful for the generous giving, careful planning, and conscientious care that makes our building possible. I am thankful for the ministries that our church building allows. But, our building points to a higher and greater reality Jesus, the cornerstone. We have the privilege of being living stones, not just at the corner of Birchfield and Spring Avenue in Wise, but anywhere we go. Brothers and sisters, because Jesus lives, let us be the church! Love, Pastor Mike How to Join Wise Baptist Church: Express one of the following to the Pastor during the closing hymn: Transfer of Letter Transfer membership to Wise Baptist Church Baptism Desire to express faith in Christ through baptism Statement of Faith Baptized believer not on a membership roll Watch Care Desire to be connected to our Church family without official membership Important Dates Deacons Meeting May 5, 8:30am Holy Communion May 5, 11am Deadline for Graduate Photos May 5 Cinco de Mayo Mexican Meal May 5, 12 noon Men s Bible Study May 7, 6:30am Inside Announcements Pages 2-3 BDays/Anniv.
