Members are responsible for setting up the communion bread and wine for each service. The communion ware and linens are kept clean. Candles are checked for enough oil. Paraments are changed according to the Season or Sunday. Each month 3 women serve at one of the 4 weekend services. The choir will be preparing a variety of choral music from the great composers to the modern choral works. Practice is on Thursdays from 7:00 to 8:30. The primary focus of the chapter is education on the sanctity of life from natural conception to natural death. Being a part of the St. Charles County Lutherans for Life is a great way to be informed on Life issues. Mary Martha Thrift Shop Joann Palmer 636-561-3279 jpalmer@centurylink.net The Mary-Martha Thrift Shop is a not-for-profit Christian endeavor sponsored by churches in the Wentzville area. Immanuel is one of eight churches that provides volunteer services for 1 week at a time. The week involves accepting and sorting clothing, small household items and décor and children's toys and games. Proceeds from sales are distributed by the Thrift Shop Board to the churches involved and other local charities. Volunteering involves a 3 1/2 hour shift during the week. Times and dates are announced in the Pulse. This meal team will be available to help coordinate meals for an individual, a family or as we did last year, hundreds of meals for Officers dealing with the Ferguson crisis. Each member receives a mite box to prayerfully collect money for mission project grants in the Missouri and National mission fields. Mites are gathered at monthly meetings in a worshipful setting and dedicated to the work of the Lord. All women of the congregation are invited to attend meetings on the 1st Thursday of the month from September thru June. We have a wonderful fellowship with spiritual growth to serve the Lord with gladness. Projects include:quilt tying, Christmas Bazaar in November, Prayer Day and salad supper and Mother- Daughter Banquet in May. Check the Pulse for meeting times.
