This obligation prohibits the eating of meat, but not eggs, milk products, or condiments of any kind, even though made from animal fat. Fasting means limiting oneself to one full meal on a given fast day. Catholics who are eighteen years of age but not yet fifty-nine are obliged to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. On fast days, two additional smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength. However, the two smaller meals together may not equal one full meal. Moreover, eating solid foods between meals on fast days is not permitted.

LEGION OF MARY ~ A PILGRIM VIRGIN VISIT RESERVE ONE WEEK VISIT OF THE PILGRIM VIRGIN FOR YOUR HOME The SEAS Legion of Mary invites all our parishioners to participate in a Pilgrim Virgin Visit. We are asking households to sign up, to have a one week devotion to our Blessed Mother Mary and pray the rosary as a family in the presence of her statue each day. A member of the Legion of Mary will deliver and pick-up the Our Lady of Grace statue to and from your home with prayer booklets, rosaries and symbols of our faith. This is a wonderful way to thank our Mother Mary for her intercession and all the blessings bestowed on you and your family. The Pilgrim Virgin with the Baldonado family "We had the privilege of having the Pilgrim Virgin visit our home this year. We had a house full of people, about 50 people visit our home when she was here. It was really a blessing to my family and friends. I pray that in one way or another, the people who visited will be touched by her blessing. It was a truly wonderful and memorable experience, one I'll never forget. " - Belvet A. Baldonado We had a wonderful time having Mother Mary over. It was a great way to start the Chinese New Year! It was wonderful to share this experience of the rosary with my relatives who were visiting from Arizona. - Michelle Macaraeg To arrange for a home visitation, contact Rosanna Email: thepilgrimvirgin@gmail.com "Love our Lady. SEAS Financial Update to Parishioners The Finance Council respectfully presents the following summary of our fiscal year revenue and expense ending Dec 31, 2018. This report covers the first half of our 2018-2019 fiscal year. Financials: July 1, 2018 to December 31, 2018 Operating Income (YTD) Operating Expenses (YTD) Deficit (YTD) (Money we receive) (Costs to run the Parish) (Income Expenses) $479,797 $552,641 -$72,844 Weekly offerings from parishioners are a significant portion of the operating income. Offerings help reduce the overall deficit which is offset by the endowment. When offerings are higher the dependence on the endowment is less. The current level of support in weekly collections is well appreciated. The 2019 Pastoral Services Appeal (PSA) is currently under way. The Sunday Mass talks, by the dedicated members of the PSA committee, have made a compelling case for all parishioners to pledge. We hope that every parishioner prayerfully considers giving, according to their means, so that the Diocesan programs can be accomplished and SEAS can benefit from the excess over our assessment. Participation in the PSA is an active aspect of our Faith. We are thankful to the parishioners that regularly give generously and ask others to help meet our budgeted obligations as reported weekly in the bulletin. Thank you for your support and prayers as the Parish Staff and the Finance Council work to fulfill their stewardship responsibilities. We support the PSA because Our lives have been enriched through our participation in the SEAS community. We support the PSA because it is an opportunity to give back to SEAS as well as to share our blessings with the greater Orange County Catholic community. We are inspired by the message that We are One! It is gratifying to know that our contribution through PSA will benefit so many services and ministries. Please join us in supporting the 2019 PSA.
