Announcements (March 30, 2014) ALTAR FLOWERS: The alter flowers in the sanctuary this morning are given by Maralyn Carr in loving memory of her mother, Helen Slauson. Have you signed up to provide flowers for our altar? Please check the flower chart on the Narthex bulletin board, and sign up for your selected Sunday. MONDAY: 10:00 AM Prayer Group If you would like to come and lift others up in prayer, please join us. 7:00 PM - s meeting TUESDAY: 2:00 PM - A small group (not yet named) will meet Tuesday, April 1 st at 2:00 PM at the home of Mary Lee Learly, 4135 Windmill Road (in Colonial Heritage). For more information please call Betty Barber 757.565.0388. 7:00 PM - Deacons meeting WEDNESDAY FAMILY NIGHT: Family Night continues this week with a special Lent Study series called, 24 Hours That Changed the World. Based upon the book by the same name by Adam Hamilton, this series will explore in detail Jesus last days on earth, from the Last Supper to the resurrection. It uses a DVD shot on location in the Holy Land. CHI RHO meets on Family Night. Our youth group is especially geared for 4th - 8th graders. They meet on Wednesday night at 7:00 PM. Families are encouraged to come at 6:30 PM. when Family Night is in session and partake in the meal and fellowship, and then let their middleschoolers join in the CHI RHO activities from 7:00 to 8:00. HAND CHIME CHOIR: Every Wednesday, from now until Palm Sunday, our youth are invited to be members of our Youth Hand Chime Choir. This group will meet on Wednesday s at 6:00 p.m. for rehearsal (breaking for Family Night dinner at 6:30.) Irma Gustafson has volunteered to lead this ministry. KID S CLUB: Some new policies are now in effect for Kid s Club. REMEMBER Kid s Club is for children in 3 rd grade and younger; those children in 4 th grade should stay in church with their parent(s). Beginning NOW, we hope to have two adult volunteers each Sunday. This is a basic safety concern; there should be two people each week. Sometimes it s a bit much for only one person. So, will YOU volunteer? If additional people offer to help, the same ones won t have to miss worship so often. Please pray about this, and contact Fiona Lang and say YES! Email: fionalangis@yahoo.com or Phone: 757.566.4790. 4

Announcements (March 30, 2014) continued GREEN MEANS GO! Go to the store and load up with lots of green veggies this month for the St. Olaf Food Pantry! March is green veggie month in honor of Saint Patrick s Day. Saint Patrick used the shamrock, a three-leafed plant, in illustrative parables to teach the Irish about the doctrine of the Holy Trinity; the Father, Son and Holy Ghost. Olive Branch Christian Church has used generous donations of non-perishable food to demonstrate the love of Christ to neighbors in need. Thank you for your continued support of our local mission work with the St. Olaf Food Pantry. Beth and Devin Nease We had an urgent request for canned food for the St. Olaf Food Pantry this past week. Many joined together Wednesday night and brought items for the pantry. We need to keep those less fortunate than us in our prayers and we are called to action. 24 Hour Prayer Vigil Thursday, April 17 th - 8:00 PM through Friday, April 18 th 7:00 PM Please sign the poster with the time you would like come to pray.
