2017 Blood Drive Last year s memorial blood drive resulted in over 100 booked appointments with over 86 accepted donors resulting in 62 total blood units. Additional Red Cross workers will be available this year due to last year s higher than expected turnout. Local media coverage included both the Daily News Record and WHSV TV 3. The blood drive will take place on January 7, 2017 from 9am-3pm. This year we will be selling food to benefit Sorrow 2 Hope: Jordan Christine Long Scholarship. Jordan s mom, Jessica Pettit said, I couldn't save Jordan's life, but doing a blood drive in her memory can give others HOPE and a second chance at life. For more information email Sorrow2Hope@gmail.com. SERVANT S HEART Men s Ministry takes on church maintenance project list. Each week at the HFA staff meeting, we review and compile a list of projects to be completed around the church. Pastors Jeff and Trevor need your help so they can prioritize their time more efficiently in sermon and Bible study preparation, counseling, hospital calls, visitation and prayer. We are thankful the men s ministry has committed to lightening this project load. If you would like to serve and help in this practical ministry, please contact Russell Whitmer, Greg Chevalier or call the church office at 433.8687. Josh Dove was our November Servant of the Month. We are thankful for his servant s heart and dedication to the work of the Lord.
Pastor s Pen Shop Your Local Church We want to be a fully functioning church flowing with the wind of the Spirit and catching His currents. Have you ever wondered, What am I here for? God has got you covered. As we enter this Thanksgiving season of thanks and the Christmas season of giving, let s give thanks for God s gifts. Our God has gifted you for such a time as this. Ephesians 4:7-16 tells us he gave gifts for equipping so that we should no longer be children, tossed to and fro and carried about with every wind of doctrine. In other words, when we are embracing God s purpose in our lives we will experience the healthiest, most fulfilling human life possible. In this flowing sermon series, God is calling us to discover and embrace His gifts in our lives and make them fully operational in our church. Join us Sunday morning as we focus on understanding these gifts and how their currents flow. Discover how the evangelism current woos, the pastoring current shepherds, the prophetic proclaims vision, the teaching current radically disciples and the apostolic current implements vision. Sunday night we will dive deeper into these gifts and offer practical instruction, based on Dr. Carolyn Tennant s book Catch the Wind of Spirit, and provide opportunities for feedback and then most importantly take time for prayerful reflection. You re here to fulfill His purpose. Join me in this journey on God s currents.
