THE BREAD BASKET Morsels from Bread of Life Lutheran Church March 2018 Bread of Life Lutheran Church 7510 36 th Avenue Hudsonville, MI 49426 (616)797-9930 Pastor Paul Krupinski Cell (616)635-0058 Email: bollc@breadoflifelc.org Web: www.breadoflifelc.org Search for us on Facebook www.facebook.com/ Breadoflife Sunday Worship Schedule with Holy Communion We invite you to worship, grow & serve with us! March, the month of wind, the Ides of March, March Madness in college basketball and this year the beginning of the regular baseball season. More importantly, however, it is the month of Lent, closing out with Holy Week. So many of you have taken my note on Your Lenten Journey and also the grocery bag with suggestions for items for LOVE, INC. Thank you for your willingness to take on a mission for Lent! A reminder that services will be held for Maundy Thursday (March 29 th ) and Good Friday (March 30 th ) both at 7:00 p.m. It is my hope and prayer that you will make every effort to worship those two nights...nights so central to who we are as Christians. As you know, the new HVac system and a proposed negative budget for 2017 bit into our reserve funds. To help bring them back up let me toss this your way. When you get your income tax refund (of course, this only applies to those of you who get one!) how about making an extra gift out of the refund to Bread of Life...thanks, just a thought! Some changes have been going on around our corner of the world. Licari s (a really good pizza and sandwich restaurant) will be opening soon and it looks like an office building is going to be built right across the street. I am expecting more activity out our way in the years to come. I am glad that Bread of Life is in it s location...hopefully we will continue to be a vital component in our community...lots of fun for us! I am looking forward to the days when the flowering trees bud out, the grass greens up and the bushes and plants spring to life. Spring time is such a wonderful and beautiful time of the year. What a gift God has given us in his creation! Let s be sure to offer thanks for all that comes from Our Father, who art in Heaven...what a great and wonderful God! At the February Church Council meeting we welcomed Dave Hall, Rob DeVries and Conrad Buck Bucholtz as new members. Brad Waara was elected President, Aaron Koerth Vice President and Dave Stracke Secretary. Please remember the Council in your prayers that it would effectively lead the congregation with wisdom and courage. Well, it is time to close this...remember, I miss you when you are absent from worship...i will look for you each week! Remember, too, to thank God daily for our blessings and to ask for the wisdom and faith to understand his will for your life. Take care and may God continue to bless you and all of your loved ones. Love ya!
