OUR MISSION AND PURPOSE: As a community of women created in the im-age of God, called to discipleship in Jesus Christ, and empowered by the Holy Spirit, we commit ourselves to grow in faith, affirm our gifts, support one another in our callings, engage in ministry and action, and promote healing and wholeness in the church, the society, and the world. TRINITY WOMEN OF THE ELCA LEADERSHIP TEAM Cynthia Wall, President, 234-6957 Maria Birch, Vice-President, 234-9429 or 680-9429 Rosemary Mohr, Treasurer, 734-4039 To join the Leadership Team, please call us. WE DO NOT STAND ALONE Greetings, We do not stand alone. God has asked me to gather the women of Trinity Lutheran Church, Chamberlain. God is asking us to act together toward these four goals: God is calling the women to gather. He is asking that we come together to work for Him. He is asking that we come together to support each other and draw strength from each other on a regular basis. God is calling the women to study His word. This season we are drawing ourselves into the lives of some obscure women in the Bible. These women that I am being introduced to for the first time have found within themselves the wisdom and power to use resources within their sphere of control. Deborah and Jael used the resources that were available to them to bring down the mighty warrior whom terrorized the Israelites. The Widow of Zaraphath provided out of her scarcity, security and hospitality to the prophet of God. These women are teaching each of us to find the resources provided by Him to complete His will in our lives. God is calling the women to worship. We are returning praise and thanks-giving to Him for the resources He has provided. Collectively and individually we join our praise to his glory as we have celebrated in our Advent Brunch, Thankoffering Service and blessing of the baby care kits and quilts. Let us celebrate more gifts and resources in the coming year. God is calling the women to serve. The Women of Trinity have an abundance of resources that he is asking we use to complete his work in the church, the community and the world. We have learned that Hannah, Jael, the Widow of Zaraphath and Miriam served the Lord out of their scarcity. What resources do the Women of Trinity have to serve the Lord? Let us meet January 18, 2014 and celebrate the work that has begun. Together we can in put our resources to prepare our work group for the year 2014. Listen! God is Calling! In Christ, Cynthia Wall We will meet in the fellowship hall Jan. 18, 10 a.m. coffee & cookies Jan 18, potluck after service Page 4
