Sermon Corner This Week s Message: True Hope We all need hope. As fans, we often have hope, even unreasonable hope, that the home of our favorite team will somehow prevail. Hope is something we all need. Hope in the midst of difficult times is signifigant. Our hope is in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Scripture: Jeremiah 33:14-16 Next Week s Message: God Wants a Commitment (Minister Tae) God demands a commitment for us to be willing faithful servants. Just as we enter into a commitment of mariage or sign a contract for employment when we commit ourselves to God we do the same thing. In this sermon we will create a plan and wish better to fulfill our commitment. Scripture: Proverbs 3:16 Rev. Ray writes a devotional thought Monday through Friday each week. Wear Red Sunday & Blood Pressure Screening February 11 th, 2018 Red Dress Sunday is an innovative faithbased health education and outreach program designed to raise awareness of the devastating effects of heart disease. Statistics show that each year more African-American women die from heart disease than breast cancer, stroke and lung cancer combined, making it the number one killer of African- American women in this country. We invite our congregation to wear red as a powerful visual and reminder to take care of their hearts on Sunday, February 11 th. A blood pressure screening will take place during fellowship time. Our Hearts are not only important spiritually, but physically as well! Page 7

By Andy Stanley Many of us want to believe that our family and friends who have not confessed Christ will be accepted into heaven because they are basically "good people." In How Good is Good Enough Andy Stanley shatters this false belief by reminding us that heaven is not filled with good people, but with people who have received God's grace. This powerful teaching on grace will bring you closer to God and will introduce your family and friends to the heart of the Christian faith. Page 9
