It seems that there are at least three or four other people s car shows in the area a week. Keep in mind we also are having almost an activity a week too. I encourage you to go to other people s shows and promote AACA while you are there. I also encourage you to attend out activities as well. We have had a lot of interesting activities planned this summer that only a couple of cars attended. This is disappointing. Our really big event, Hershey, is over with. Many of us look forward to it and go every year. I saw several members up there. Tommy Hunt, Fred Becker, John Garnet, the Aftel Family, Lauman Schooler, ( I assume Francis was there too) and Nick Rein. We only had two cars in the show, my 1924 Ford and my 1947 Jeep. Tommy Hunt is our newest Judge. He attended his first judging school and did his apprenticeship, and first CJE. The times are from 8 AM to 9 PM. The Saturday all day price is $25.00 to AACA Members. They will also set up special parking for up and a space in the main building. Bring you old car. Keep in mind Thursday the 20th is a Drive In Movie Grease. Doors open at 6PM and Movie Starts at 7 PM. For those who like to Paint, Sip and Paint starts at 6:30, Cost is $30.00 to cover the instructor and supplies. Also on Thursday, the VRG will be coming in and Tech inspection opens at 6PM. 21 Oct is VRG Practice and Qualifying from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Cost is free. Sunday the VRG is running again from 8:30 AM to 1 PM, cost is $15.00. We will be racing our Mazda RX-7 this weekend. 29 October is the Fall Harvest Festival at Shannon Airport. This is a Wings and Wheels Event. The airport will have a special display area for us. Hank Mausolf is the POC. 5 November is the Eagle Village Display. We would like to have about 30 cars. 10Am to 3 PM. J. Brown is the POC 6 November is a tour to the USMC Museum, Details to be determined 3 December is the Spotsylvania Christmas Parade 4 December is the Annual Christmas Banquet at the Fredericksburg Country Club. Francis Schooler is the POC 17 December is the Candle Light tour of downtown Fredericksburg As of this writing, our nominating committee has come up with a slate of officers for the upcoming elections. We are shy on a candidate for VP I hope we can get this filled on meeting night.

T H E M A G N E T O Page 3 Historic Fredericksburg Region, AACA General Membership Meeting Minutes, Historic Fredericksburg Region, AACA - Monthly Meeting Sept 20, 2016 President Wally Hunt called the meeting to order. There were 23 members who attended and we had no visitors tonight. The August minutes were unavailable for review as the Magneto was not available yet this month. Liz Hunt read the minutes to those present. There was a motion to approve the minutes and all agreed. Treasurer s Report Neal Lauver presented the report and reviewed our progress made since last year. COMMITTEE REPORTS Membership Laumen Schooler had no updates to membership. He did remind members to save their recent AACA letters which contains information on the national dues. It comes every year at this time. Sunshine Club Rena Reese reported J. Brown and Ben Schooler were sent get well cards this month. Legislative Don Mohr was not present. Magneto newsletter Fred Becker was not present and the Magneto will be sent out later next week. Web site Robert Aftel reported his wife, Nora has updated the site and will be posting the Magneto. Free National Membership 4 free memberships were given out last year and 2 of these 4 new members joined our club. Wally has received another 8 new memberships to use this year. Please note, he received the extra 4 by being the past Old Dominion President. Social Francis Schooler reported on the Taste of the Mountains in Madison. They had a very good showing and people had a good time. She also reviewed plans for our Christmas Party planned for Dec 4th at the Country Club. Those present discussed and voted on the cost it was agreed that the club will pay up to $15 toward the cost of the ticket. We have agreed to purchase at least 50 tickets in total. Car Show J. Brown was unable to hold a car show meeting this month due to an illness. Once the meeting is scheduled, all club members interested are strongly encouraged to attend. Old Business The Rixeyville s Verdun Music Show - cancelled last month due to poor weather. Prohibition Tour Wally reported those that attended participated in a walking tour around Fredericksburg. Several people dressed in vintage clothing and all learned about prohibition in Fredericksburg. Dog Mart This event is scheduled for September 24th over at the Izaak Walton League of America from 9:30am 4pm. For more information, please check the web site: www.fredericksburgdogmart.com Tidewater Region Club Car Show in Virginia Beach This event will be held on 9/24/16 at the Military Aviation Museum. There will be airplane rides; AACA judges classes and time to visit the museum. The Historic Marker Mayo Carter was unable to attend today and this will be discussed next month.

Page 4 New Business The Mid-Atlantic Car/Truck &Bike Show and Motorcycle Ride This is an annual fundraiser event to raise money for the children Muscular Dystrophy. It will be held on Oct 1st and pre-registration is suggested or pay day of the show (cost $15/20 depending). There will be dash plaques and trophies. HHFI Fundraisers Emily Schricker was not present tonight to continue this discussion so we will postpone this topic until next visit. Harvest Festival Hank Mausolf has been making arrangements for this event which will be held at Shannon Airport on October 29th. He reports he has been talking to the airport and they would like us to arrive close to 8am and to stay until 4pm. It was decided to not have any drawings or raffles. Dominion Raceway There will be a Vintage Racer s Group attending the race track for 3 days. It was discussed to make that Saturday, 10/22/16 the day to plan a club picnic and attend as a group. There will be a sign up sheet passed around at the October club meeting if interested in attending. USMC Museum There has been some interest from members in planning a trip to this museum in Quantico, VA in November. There will be more discussion at our next meeting. Old Dominion Planning Meeting This will be held in Virginia Beach this year on 11/12/16. The AACA Eastern Division Fall Meet will be held in Hersey, PA on the weekend of 10/8/16. Wally Hunt encourages anyone who has never attended to consider going this year. Ben Schooler reported that a friend of his has a free corral car space available if interested, please let him know. 2016 Elections This year we are having elections for Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, etc. Wally reviewed with board members who they appointed as their nominating committee and who can assist in identifying the candidates. Robert Aftel is the chairman of the nominating committee. The nominating committee will meet within the next couple weeks and report back to the membership with a slate of officers for the October meeting. Voting will take place in November with the installment of the new board in December at the Christmas party. 50/50 Raffle Ron Reese won the raffle and contributed the total $12 back to the club. Ben Schooler closed the meeting with a prayer. The meeting was adjourned at 8:30pm. There was no post meeting lecture tonight. Thank you to those club members who attended this meeting.
