Those who respect truth and life, who live in holiness and grace, and who work to bring justice, love and peace, will inherit the kingdom prepared for them from the creation of the world. Stewardship / Sunday Giving Sheil depends on our community members to support our programs as well as the day to day operations. Thank you for your support and God Bless.

Sheil Welcomes Fr. Chuck Dahm Sunday, December 3 and Monday, Decmber 4 The Rev. Father Chuck Dahm, of St. Pius V Church in Pilsen is a leader in the Chicago Archdiocese s effort to address domestic violence. Fr. Dahm will preach here at Sheil during all four Masses on Sunday, December 3. His message is extremely powerful. On Monday evening December 4 at 7:00 p.m. he will return to lead a discussion on this serious issue that is prevalent in our society today. Fr. Dahm will also address sexual violence that occurs on college campus. Please join us. The Archdiocese of Chicago is dedicated to domestic violence outreach as part of the Office of Human Dignity and Solidarity. The mission of the Archdiocese of Chicago Domestic Violence Outreach is threefold. Awareness The first is to raise awareness of domestic violence throughout the archdiocese. Service Second, is to promote the development and delivery of services, such as counseling and group support, to women, men and children victims of domestic violence, as well as to perpetrators, at local parishes and through archdiocesan institutions and agencies. Prevention Third, is to advocate for the prevention of domestic violence. Girls and boys, young women and young men must learn to recognize the elements of unhealthy and healthy relationships. This is accomplished through education at home, in parishes, and in schools.

This season is the long season when those who listen await his cry... Advent Evening Prayer of Lessons and Carols Friday, December 1 at 7 pm Watch and pray the Lord shall come... Join us for prayer in Preparation for Christmas. Reception follows the service Thank You for a Successful Food Drive We Fed 45 Families This was the first year that we connected Sheil families with registered families through the St.Vincent DePaul Society. Eleven Sheil families participated and personally purchased and delivered Thanksgiving dinners to their assigned families. Collected non-perishables and food cards were distributed among an additional 15 Evanston families and 19 families from the Precious Blood Ministry of Reconciliation. Thank you to all of the students who helped sort and deliver. And a special thank you to Marina Porter for organizing this year's food drive and mitten tree.

Rides for Students Christmas Break Each year, the Sheil community supports our students by offering rides to the airports for Christmas break. We are looking for associates to drive to O Hare and Midway prior to break, approximately December 4th through Dec 10th. This is a great way to make a connection with a student and help him/her get to the airport safely and on time. To volunteer as a driver or to request a ride, please contact Carol Finnegan at carolafinnegan@comcast.net or (847) 975-9983. Students, please relay the following information: Full Name Airport information (ORD or MDW) Flight Date Flight time Name Cell Number Email Address Note if you are traveling internationally This is intended to be a Sheil-to-Sheil program for the purpose of making connections between associates and students, not a campus-wide service. Drivers, we will be in touch with a student request schedule from which you can select dates and times that work for you. Please submit a copy of your auto insurance card to Teresa Corcoran in the Sheil Business Office or scan/email to Teresa at: t-corcoran@northwestern.edu Thank you! Carol Finnegan 844 Club The 844 Club meets every Sunday from 8:44 a.m.- 9:30 a.m. to discuss the readings for the upcoming week. The group meets in first floor library.
