Endued with Power June 2018 From FGBMFA President Phil Harrison Endued With Power Blessings to all members! If we are to accomplish anything for the Kingdom of God, it will be because of Christ is in us, the hope of Glory! In ourselves, we can offer little to advance His Kingdom. Psalm 127:1 tells us Unless the Lord builds the house, they labor in vain who build it.. This is why we must we operate in His Power! According to Strong s Concordance, the Greek word for power is dynamis, and
it means inherent power, power residing in a thing by virtue of its nature, or which a person or thing exerts and puts forth. The KJV of the bible has 120 references to dynamis/power. That s the same number of people that started the early church, after being obedient to Jesus by tarrying in prayer in the upper room. What followed was the 120 received power through the Baptism of the Holy Spirit! Our 2018 National Conference theme is Endued with Power. The Lord gave me that in November 2017 Soon after, Kenneth Copeland Ministries announced 2018 is the year of The Holy Ghost and Fire. What a confirmation! God desires that we operate in His power, as confirmed by Ephesians 1:19: and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power. May we all be reminded that we have been endued with His power to destroy the works of the devil. In Mark 6:7, it says And He called the twelve to Himself, and began to send them out two by two, and gave them power over unclean spirits. In Luke 10:19, Jesus said Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you. In the The Vision Intensified, Demos last publication, he mentions the power and anointing of the Holy Spirit several times. But so many today are not stepping out to allow the Holy Spirit to move through them as Demos mentioned: So many with good hands and good legs are sitting down, waiting for God to bless them. It is time to stand up, let the power of God flow through you, and revive a dying world with the message, and the PROOF-PRODUCING POWER of Jesus Christ! Demos goes on to say:
THE HOLY GHOST SHALL COME UPON US, AND THE POWER OF THE HIGHEST WILL OVERSHADOW ALL BARRIERS, BREAK ALL CHAINS, AND MEET EVERY NEED. In the remainder of 2018, let our focus (through prayer) be on The Vision. As Demos states - The Vision is people (in The Vision Intensified ). We must receive the Father s heart of compassion for those who are outside His Kingdom to fulfill The Vision. Once we have such a heart, He will give us His Holy Spirit, power and boldness to be a witness in the marketplace (Acts 1:8). May the anointing in 2018 and beyond be just as powerful as it was at the birth of the church - 2000+ years ago: Behold, I send the Promise of My Father upon you; but tarry in the city of Jerusalem until you are endued with power from on high. (Luke 24:49) The Master in the Marketplace On his second missionary trip, the Apostle Paul spent time in the city of Athens, and there shared his famous sermon at Mars Hill (as recorded in Acts 17). We also see in that chapter that Paul shared daily in the marketplace of Athens. In addition, most of the recorded public ministry of Jesus was in the marketplace. A few years back, the below factoids were made known to the body of Christ through the ministry of Os Hillman regarding marketplace and work ministry: Of Jesus 132 public appearances in the NT, 122 were in the marketplace Of 52 parables Jesus told, 45 had a workplace context Of 40 divine interventions recorded in Acts, 39 were in the marketplace Jesus spent more than 50% of His life as a carpenter until age 30 before He went into a preaching ministry in the marketplace Jesus called 12 workplace individuals, not clergy to build His church Work is Worship The Hebrew word Avodah is the root for word from which we get the words work and worship
Work in its different forms is mentioned more than 800 times in the Bible more than all the words used to express worship, music, praise, and singing combined The above factoids confirm the ministry of FGBMFA reaching the masses in the marketplace with the love of Jesus Christ. Every chapter meeting, every Holy Smoke Hangout, every Godmobile outreach and every visit to a jail/prison impacts lives in the marketplace for Jesus Christ. Let each of us remember the words of Jesus recorded in Matthew as He called out the disciples in the marketplace: Follow Me, and I will make you fishers of men. (Matthew 4:19) We are to be fishers of men. This is our calling and He has given us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Cor. 5:18). Position yourself to be a Kingdom Builder in the marketplace! Defining Success If I asked you to define success - each and every one of you would define it slightly different This is because the Lord has uniquely created us with different callings, spiritual gifts and talents. We all desire to be successful in life, and yet success looks very different in the Kingdom of God vs. World System. Even within the Kingdom of God, each of us might define success in a number of different ways. For example, some might measure Kingdom success as: How much time you have spent with in His Word How much deep study you have done in the bible How much time you given to others That your children are Christian and serving God By your ability to memorize and recall scripture By how many people you ve led to Christ By the amount of finances you ve given to Kingdom work How many FGBMFA chapters you ve started
How many FGBMFA members you ve sponsored or signed-up How many disciples you have produced for His Kingdom By how many leadership positions you ve held By the number of bible studies you ve led By the number of Christian friends you have Etc. To me, examining my faith walk is very important in measuring Kingdom success (see Hebrew 11:6 and 2 Corinthians 13:5). What is my motive behind doing something and am I operating with Kingdom faith? But setting aside all our human efforts, have you ever considered defining success by the ability to comprehend His grace toward us as new testament believers? For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. (John 1:17) However you define success in the Kingdom of God call out to your heavenly Father, and freely receive from Him. His heart is to protect you, provide for all your needs, and see you succeed in all that you do. And finally, remember "He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?"
