Introduction We love Jesus lets therefore embrace the following for this year: Our Vision: To know Jesus and to make Him known Knowing Jesus brings our vision for one another: 1. We want you to be without any sickness (Mat 4:24) 2. We want you to be prosperous (Pro 3:4 en Luk 2:42) 3. We want you to be in a Family and have a family (Psa 68:6) 4. We want you to have a good job that pays a good salary (2 Th 3:10 12) 5. We want you to leave an inheritance for your children s children (Pro 13:22, 19:14, Col 3:24 en 1 Pe 1:4) 6. We want a peaceful city (1 Ti 2:1-2) Our mandate: To make disciples Our Strategy: Is 61 How can we get our vision to be established? Our strategy comes from the following text: Isa 61:1 Isa 61:11 (NKJV Strong's,) The Good News of Salvation 1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the broken hearted, To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion, To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified. 4 And they shall rebuild the old ruins, They shall raise up the former desolations, And they shall repair the ruined cities, The desolations of many generations. 5 Strangers shall stand and feed your flocks, And the sons of the foreigner Shall be your plowmen and your vinedressers. 6 But you shall be named the priests of the Lord, They shall call you the servants of our God. You shall eat the riches of the Gentiles, And in their glory you shall boast. 7 Instead of your shame you shall have double honor, And instead of confusion they shall rejoice in their portion. Therefore in their land they shall possess double; Everlasting joy shall be theirs. 8 For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant. 9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity whom the Lord has blessed. 10 I will greatly rejoice in the Lord, My soul shall be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, Vision sharing 3
As a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels. 11 For as the earth brings forth its bud, As the garden causes the things that are sown in it to spring forth, So the Lord God will cause righteousness and praise to spring forth before all the nations. From the above we could determine 5 points of our STRATEGY for us to live out in 2018: We are GIFTED Accept that we are sent and set apart Accept the task that we have been sent to do Accept the authority we have to do the task Accept the reward 1. I am ANOINTED and Gifted I can have surety and boldness Not only am I gifted (Anointed) but God IS with me as is written in: Is61:1 The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me (ME because I am in Jesus through my baptism), Because the Lord has anointed (gifted) Me Why is it so important to make this FACT (My giftedness and believing God is with me) so important?? Because God has given me and you seed to sow that we CAN HAVE LIFE as is written in: Galatians 6:8 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 8 For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he (ME and YOU) who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life. We have received our gifts freely it is our key for life, bringing glory to our KING Jesus Therefore: a. Accept what God has done for us Our strategy is to preach God s WORD so that each one of us can know and understand what God has done for us. WE ARE POOR WITHOUT HIM. Vision sharing 4
Knowing that I have been saved by GRACE and that it was not because of my strength I can now start with this great life God has separated me for by sending me (and YOU) b. GOD has sent (appoint) us Rom 10:14 Rom 10:15 (NKJV Strong's, 14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach unless they are sent (set apart)? As it is written: How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the gospel of peace, Who bring glad tidings of good things! 2. Know that me and you are sent and set apart (Is 61:1) To be sent by the Lord is to be: set apart Appointed (by implication) to send out (properly, on a mission) literally or figuratively: put in a task, send (away, forth, out), and set at liberty to do a task (good works) that He has separated for us as is written in: Ephesians 2:10 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them. 3. THE task (Is 6:1-4) From the scriptures above I can surely determine that I am ANNOINTED and therefore GIFTED to: I. A carrier of God s presence II. Live my gift and after that III. TO then teach it Where can I lift out my gift? We are set at liberty to live our gift therefore: Always and everywhere manoeuvre/position yourself to exercise your gifting wherever you go by: a. Always let your speech be with GRACE: Vision sharing 5
Colossians 4:5-6 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 5 Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time. 6 Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one. b. By the grace of God Redeem the time by being vigilant, intentional and focussed: Ephesians 5:14-17 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 14 Therefore He says: Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light. Walk in Wisdom 15 See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, 16 redeeming the time, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is. 4. My authority My authority is in: the one and only NAME Jesus Colossians 3:17 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him. We cannot say we are doing all things in the name of Jesus if we do not have Love Jesus is the head of a family that He calls church that consists out of you and me. We are a family. What is a family? It consists out of Children, Young men and women and Fathers and Mothers (1 Jn 2:12-14) all maturing by exercising our senses (and gifting s) (Heb 5:13-14). 1 John 4:10-11 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 10 In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. We cannot say we LOVE if we are not: Being Obedient John 14:21 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 21 He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him. John 13:35 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 35 By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another. Therefore obeying God = LOVE How do I know I love and obey God? Church Where are the above: Jesus, Love and obedience being tested in your life? Vision sharing 6
Is it not Jesus the head of the church, obedience are being tested because you love Him and because you love Him you love those He loves. If you believe this then the following verses will confirm your love and obedience to Jesus: o Romans 10:3-4 (KJV) 3 For they being ignorant of God's righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. o 1 Peter 2:7-8 (KJV) 7 Unto you therefore which believe HE is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner, 8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed. 5. Reward Taking up our task and authority let s see what are we sent to receive: Is 61: 8 For I, the Lord, love justice; I hate robbery for burnt offering; I will direct their work in truth, And will make with them an everlasting covenant. 9 Their descendants shall be known among the Gentiles, And their offspring among the people. All who see them shall acknowledge them, That they are the posterity whom the Lord has blessed. Look also what is said in Ps 126: Psalms 126 (NKJV Strong's Bible) 1 When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, We were like those who dream. 2 Then our mouth was filled with laughter, And our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, The Lord has done great things for them. 3 The Lord has done great things for us, And we are glad. 4 Bring back our captivity, O Lord, As the streams in the South. 5 Those who sow in tears Vision sharing 7
Shall reap in joy. 6 He who continually goes forth weeping, Bearing seed for sowing, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, Bringing his sheaves with him. We can therefor boldly have a vision for one another: Knowing Jesus brings our vision for one another: 1. We want you to be without any sickness 2. We want you to be prosperous 3. We want you to be in a Family and have a family 4. We want you to have a good job that pays a good salary 5. We want you to leave an inheritance for your children s children 6. We want a peaceful city 6. Summary Having a vision so great: To know Jesus and to make Him known Let s allow ourselves to be sent in authority so that we can also reap a great reward, to know Jesus Jesus is the way, our life and peace!
