Words of Reflection "You do not want to leave too, do you? "Jesus asked the Twelve. Simon Peter answered him: " Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God." John 6: 67-69 NIV Welcome: Prelude Call to Worship: Leader: Trust in the Lord, and do good. People: May the Lord give strength to his people. Leader: O taste and see that the Lord is good! All: God is our refuge and strength. Organist/pianist Jeff Burke *Opening Hymn "This Is The Day" # 657 Opening Prayer: Almighty God, you have so linked our lives with one another that all we do affects, for good or ill, all other lives: So guide us in the work we do, that we may do it not for self alone, but for the common good; and, as we seek a proper return for our own labor, make us mindful of the rightful aspirations of other workers, and arouse our concern for those who are out of work; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen. Gospel Lesson: John 6: 52-58 Response to the Gospel Lesson Leader: This is the word of God for the people of God, for which people say: People: Thanks be to God! Amen. *Hymn "All Who Hunger" FWS # 2126 Prayers of the People What joys or concerns do you want to take to God in prayer? Do you have a story to share as to how God has worked in your life recently? -2-

Pastoral Prayer leading into the Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. The Epistle Lesson : Ephesians 4: 1-16 *Hymn "Christ, from Whom All Blessings Flow" # 550 Sermon Rev. Heidi Reinker *Hymn "Jesus, United by Thy Grace" # 561 Presentation of our Tithes and Offerings Offering Prayer Offertory Music *Doxology Praise God, from whom all blessings flow, # 95 Praise him; all creatures here below; Praise him above; ye heavenly host; Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. Amen Sacrament of Holy Communion (Everyone is welcome to the Lord's table who seeks to know and love the Lord, you do not have to be a member of this denomination or congregation. The ushers will direct you to the front, and you can take a piece of bread and a small cup of grape juice. You may pray at the altar rail after receiving the elements, if you so desire.) *Benediction It is our tradition to form a circle around the perimeter of the church after the benediction to sing Let There Be Peace on Earth while holding hands. If you are uncomfortable with this, you may proceed directly to the fellowship hall for refreshments! -3-

Closing Hymn Let There Be Peace on Earth # 431 Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me; Let there be peace on earth, the peace that was meant to be. With God our Creator, children all are we. Let us walk with each other in perfect harmony. Let peace begin with me; let this be the moment now. With every step I take, let this be my solemn vow: To take each moment and live each moment in peace eternally. Let there be peace on earth, and let it begin with me. *Postlude Everyone is invited to the fellowship hall for refreshments and a time of fellowship. A very big thank you to Ira Neubauer for building the new wood steps and deck off the back of the church and pouring a new concrete landing step. Many thanks also to Todd Southers and Jerry Ward for helping Ira put it up! Altar Flowers: Given by Karen Roberts in memory of her grandmother Hazel Batton.
