Enter this Church not as a stranger, but as a guest of God. May the blessings of God rest upon you, both in your coming in and your going out. We are delighted to have you in worship. We ask that you please sign the Fellowship Pad at the end of the pew. For your convenience, we have a warm and loving nursery adjacent to the sanctuary, complete with an available paging system. We also have a Cry Room at the back of the Sanctuary (near the usher s table) on the pulpit side with windows and a speaker so that you can see and hear the service. If you have any questions or need literature regarding the life of Bethany Presbyterian Church, please visit the Welcome Center, located next to the sanctuary. Please turn off cell phones before worship. Thank you. *Indicates all who are able, please stand. We confess that we have many shortcomings, some that are easy to admit, and some that we try to hide. But we know that we are foolish to think we can conceal our flaws from You. You know when we lay down and when we get up; You know our successes and our failures; You know when we act, and when we fail to act. And so we come before You asking for healing and grace. Forgive us for the ways we disappoint You, others, and ourselves. Give us the courage, we pray, to move forward, trusting in your goodness, redemption and grace. We ask this in Jesus holy name, Amen. Silent Prayer of Confession

NEWS FOR THE BODY OF CHRIST Our Guest Pastor. Reverend Nadine L. Roy Nadine Roy, or Dena as she prefers to be called, joined the CCUPC staff in January of 2007 as the Assistant to the Pastor. In April of 2010 she was ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament and installed to the Associate Pastor position. Rev. Roy has been a Western PA girl all of her life. She grew up in Bridgeville, just south of Pittsburgh, where she was a member of Bethany Presbyterian church. Dena attended Grove City College, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Christian Thought. After college Dena enrolled at the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, where she earned her Masters of Divinity Degree. During this time Dena served a congregation in Crafton, PA. Dena s husband, Brooks, has lived in Cranberry Township since the spring of 2004, and Dena joined him here in the fall of 2005 after they were married. Brooks owns and operates a computer consulting company in near-by Warrendale, PA. Dena and Brooks welcomed a son, Solomon, in May of 2011, and the family shares their home with two cats, Gigabyte and Terabyte, and some fish. Dena s favorite parts of her job include leading mission trips, and taking the youth away for weekend events and retreats. There is something amazing about taking time away to be in God s presence. Dena loves her work at CCUPC. It constantly amazes her to see God s grace at work in the members here and throughout the world, and she feels honored that God has allowed her to be a part of it. We Respond to God s Word The Affirmation of Faith Nicene Creed We believe in one God the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible. And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, begotten of the Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of Very God, begotten, not made, being of one substance with the Father by whom all things were made; who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, and was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, and was made man, and was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, and the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, and ascended into heaven, and sitteth on the right hand of the Father. And he shall come again with glory to judge both the quick and the dead, whose kingdom shall have no end. And we believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord and Giver of Life, who proceedeth from the Father and the Son, who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified, who spoke by the prophets. And we believe one holy catholic and apostolic Church. We acknowledge one baptism for the remission of sins. And we look for the resurrection of the dead, and the life of the world to come. Amen. *The Hymn No. 40 For the Beauty of the Earth *The Benediction *The Benediction Response (10:45) May the Road Rise to Meet You L. Turner Postlude O For a Thousand Tongues To Sing G. Martin
