PASTORAL CHAT My dear readers, 1. CMI: Creation Ministries International Our Church, Calvary Pandan Bible-Presbyterian Church, has welcomed speakers from CMI to speak on Creation and Why not Evolution, and why The Genesis Record is true, etc. We have observed the work of CMI and given the Managing Director, Dr Carl Wieland, and other representatives, our hearty support for the past two decades. I believe we are in the same calling to earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered unto the saints (Jude 3). Today, I publish, for readers information, a brief history of CMI (supplied by Dr Carl Wieland). Dr Wieland gave up a thriving practice as a Medical Practitioner in Australia, to spearhead this global witness for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ (Rev 1:9), primarily in the area of Creation vs Evolution. 2. Creation Ministries International By Dr Carl Wieland Creation Ministries International (CMI) is a group of independent non-profit, ministry organizations in several countries dedicated to defending and proclaiming the total truth of the Bible in particular the history in the book of Genesis. This history, with its account of the origin of sin and death, is always regarded as totally factual by the Lord Jesus and the Apostles in the New Testament, and is logically foundational to the whole Gospel message. It is also the target of the strongest attacks aimed at biblical Christianity, from both without and within the church, worldwide. Because these attacks often invoke science, CMI globally employs a number of PhD scientists, probably more than any other Christian ministry, as speakers, writers and researchers. All CMI offices share the same website (creation.com). It has over 8,500 searchable articles, and a powerful Q & A section, and a new article is added daily. They share the same family magazine (Creation), a 56-page high quality glossy quarterly now going to over 110 countries worldwide. Creation is a potent and advertisement-free witnessing weapon which strengthens the faith of tens and thousands worldwide. They share the same peer-reviewed science/research Journal (Creation). CMI also produces DVDs and publishes books and other resources, to help their message (that the Bible is truthful, trustworthy and authoritative) to be clearly heard amongst the cacophony of voices urging compromise or abandonment of biblical truth. All CMI offices share the same solidly biblical Statement of Faith. As an organization, CMI is non-denominational, in the sense of avoiding ministry controversies other than Genesis/creation/evolution. This avoids diluting the thrust and effectiveness in their specialist ministry area. (Individuals in CMI obviously have their denominational preferences and convictions). Each CMI office is mostly funded by the donations of God s people, mostly within
the country concerned. Each office is formally bound to one another in a global Federation, preventing any from going off-message on its own. CMI s message is further spread via direct speaking engagements (well over a thousand each year, globally). The primary strategy is to motivate and strengthen God s people, encouraging them in steadfastness and evangelism. By equipping believers with powerful information and quality resources, many people come to Christ each year as Christians share that information with family and others. (End of article on CMI). 3. CMI turns many to the truth and salvation From CMI publications and testimonies sent to CMI, I rejoice over the salvation of many who attend CMI meetings or read CMI publications, who have written to testify of their new found faith and salvation in the Lord Jesus Christ (and who came to receive the truth of Salvation, and Creation) for the first time. Here are some testimonies: a) Honestly, as I grew up in the 90's, I was already permeated by the notion of billions of years, (instead of the 6-day creation of Genesis). It was solidified in public schooling, and it wasn't until 2011 that, thanks to CMI, I was able to abandon my old outlook on life, and become a Christian. Keep up the good work. Ismael P, Australia. b) Thank you so much for your work! No amount of money could ever be as valuable as the truth you've given my life. I brought someone to Christ through your article about the irreducible complexity of DNA repair this week! - Collin W, USA c) This pre-suppositional thinking is rampant viewing and therefore interpreting the same data through distorted lenses. I grew up with evolutionary, long-age lenses. This hindered me for years from accepting the Bible as the Word of God. After all, my science teachers were good decent people who were just teaching me the facts. Or so I thought. What I didn't know was that they themselves were held captive to a lie, however well-intentioned they may have been. I praise God that He at last broke down my intellectual resistance to the truth of the Word of God... Twenty-five years later, I m still astonished that I d been so deluded for so long. Truly, His Word is truth....please keep powering on in the Truth. The ministry God has given you is so utterly foundational and vital in setting the captives free within, even the church! Russel T, Australia. God bless all readers. More next week. Yours faithfully in Jesus our Lord Dr SH Tow CHOIR KEEP ON PRAYING Keep on praying the Lord is nigh; Keep on praying, He ll hear your cry. God has promised and He is true; Keep on praying, He ll answer you. Keep on praying, Keep on praying, Keep on praying He ll answer you.
