Box Tops need to be turned in by May 15th. Be aware, there is an expiration date on each one. Get them turned in before that date. I will mail them in the end of May and then late September. Thank you for your participation! --- Beverly Neff April 05 - Mrs. Holmes 6-8 Choir Director 12 - Brooke Clausen 6th grade 19 - Brady Searl 4th grade 23 - Emily Benson 1st grade 27 - Ella Grey 6th grade 29 - Arthur van den Berg 6th grade From Mr. Odell s desk: (God s Word given to teachers each week and we want to share with you, also!) 1 John 1:5-2:6 5 This is the message we have heard from him and proclaim to you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. 6 If we say we have fellowship with him while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth. 7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus his son cleanses us from all sin. 8 I we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 10 If we say we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. (2) 1 My little children, I am writing these things to you so that you may not sin. But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. 2 He is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the sins of the whole world. 3 And by this we know that we have come to know him, if we keep his commandments. 4 Whoever says I know him but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him, 5 but whoever keeps his word in him truly the love of God is perfected. By this we may know we are in him: 6 whoever says his abides in him ought to walk in the same in which he walked. This passage counters the false teaching of John s time and the natural tendency of the human heart to misrepresent Jesus and therefore to lessen the awfulness of sin. Even as believers, sin can work its way into our lives and we can become calloused to the deadening effect sin brings to our hearts and lives. However all is not lost as Jesus stands before the Father as our Advocate having fully satisfied the Righteous demands of our Holy God. It is so easy for our hearts to become stone. My prayer for me and for us is that God will melt our hearts of stone with His grace, and we will love God with a love like His. For nearly 18 years, the last day of school has been a Fun Festival for the students. The junior high students run our games for us. I need 5-6 adults (parents, grandparents, etc) to help supervise and handle any problems that may arise. I need 3-4 people in the kitchen to fix our hot dogs and serve lunch. Any questions, talk to me. Please volunteer to help. Without volunteers, our Fun Festival won t happen. Let me or the office know if you can help the morning of Friday, May 17th. Thank you! --- Beverly Neff
