July 5 1Chronicles 1-2:17 CHRONICLES HAD THE HEBREW TITLE THE ANNALS (EVENTS) OF THE DAYS. MOST SCHOLARS AGREE THAT THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN BY EZRA, A PRIEST WHO LED THE ISRAELITES BACK TO JUDAH FROM EXILE IN BABYLON. THIS BOOK WAS WRITTEN AS THE ISRAELITES WERE TRYING TO REBUILD THEIR LAND, HOMES, TEMPLE & NATION. 1. In view of the insight above, what overall purpose do you see for these genealogies in 1 st 9 chapters? 2. What important family groups are represented in today's reading?
