Everything else is a poor translation. Thomas Keating distractions, including thoughts, words, and even emotions. It moves prayer from a conversation with God to being in communion with God. In today s busy world this type of prayer is richly rewarding as it invites the practitioner to stop and simply be present to God presence. Centering prayer can be done individually but it often helps to begin with a group for support and accountability. More information can be found online at https://www.contemplativeoutreach.org Centering Prayer meets from 10am-11am, in the St. Gabriel room downstairs at the end of the mailbox hallway. Future dates are: 3/13, 3/27, 4/3, 5/1. Centering Prayer is a deeply rewarding prayer practice that seeks to open the mind and heart to experience the presence of God through silence and stillness. It is a spiritual discipline that takes practice to empty the mind from www.stdavidchurch.org 5
NORTH FULTON COMMUNITY CHARITIES Did you know that St. David s was one of the founders of North Fulton Community Charities (NFCC)? We continue to support NFCC with volunteers and with our donations. YOUR contributions to the Food Pantry are especially important and ever so easy to do: Just bring your food donation to church with you! Do you grocery shop every week? How simple would it be to add one item to your basket and bring it to the blue bin in the mailbox hallway each Sunday! If you have household items or clothing we are asking you to drop them off directly to NFCC yourself as it is becoming increasingly difficult get them from the church to NFCC. Each month this year we will highlight a special need for NFCC. Will you consider helping? March Grocery List for NFCC We have learned that our Food Pantry clients cook! Highly sought after and seldom donated items are ingredients such as cooking oil, sugar, and cornmeal. (Flour is another desirable commodity, but we get much more flour donated.) Another baking category you might not guess: canned milk, evaporated or condensed, and coconut milk. Would you consider adding a cooking ingredient item to your weekly grocery list and bring it to church? GENERAL FOOD PANTRY WORD TO THE WISE: Bigger is not usually better in the Pantry. If you give a large bag of sugar it must be broken down into 1 pound bags, using both plastic and time. If you give a 2 lb bag of sugar we can give it as is no plastic, no labor. If you give two ordinary size bottles of cooking oil two families benefit. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2019 Hi Everyone! Children, Youth, and Adults!
