The Christian Church Is Christ s Church 2 nd Sunday after Epiphany January 14 & 15, 2017
Ebenezer Lutheran Church Port Hudson The Lutheran Church Missouri Synod 9100 Highway YY Leslie, Missouri Parsonage 573-459-6432 Church 573-459-6431 Rev. William F. Zastrow, Pastor Mary Sprick, Secretary ebenezerlutheran@hotmail.com ebenezerlutheranchurch.wordpress.com AS WE GATHER: The text of an early Latin hymn that dates back to the eighth century describes Jesus as the sure foundation who binds all the Church in one. Although we may wonder week by week who will be at worship when we arrive at our church building, we know with certainty that our Lord is there. He is there in Word and Sacrament. He is there in the fellowship of the saints. He is there because the Church is His Church, for which He paid a great price. Gratefully, we await the gifts that He brings this day. PRAYER BEFORE WORSHIP: Father in heaven, Christ s sacrifice for us has called us to be saints with all who come to You in His holy name. Grant that we may use all the gifts You have bestowed on us so that we may be guiltless until the day of our Lord s return; through Your Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen. THE ORDER OF WORSHIP DIVINE SERVICE HS 98 page 6, HYMNS 865, 864, 822, 867, 899

Ralph and dear wife Sue were former members of Ebenezer Lutheran Church. Funeral Services were held Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church in New Haven, with burial at our cemetery. We thank the congregation and its members for hosting the family for a dinner after the burial service. Again our heart felt sympathy to Sue and family and our dear members, Kim Gerding and her children, Danielle and Derek, and Judy Hubenthal a sister-in-law to Ralph.
