Pray without ceasing. 1 Thessalonians 5:17 It is the desired of BOLI to come together in prayer and fasting for our mission trip. This is a tool to direct your prayers, but may the Spirit of the Living God lead you now and in days to come to pray. Holy Spirit to be present 2. Removal of any obstacles which might hinder the success of this trip and for God to receive all of the glory 3. For future long term we to come out of this short term trip. 4. The Children and youth, future Ambassadors who will watch what we do and be impacted by our surrendered lives serving in God s hands 5. Revival in our hearts & homes Pray for our families (spouses, children, etc.) 6. For the teaching, preaching and testimonies which will be shared that God will speak through each person to people s hearts and minds with power & conviction. 7. Love For God The most important commandment for all Christians is Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. Let s pray that our love for God will increase. May God place his love in our hearts to a greater magnitude. Let s pray that we will not just be service oriented, but also rather than love oriented (express love throughout work). Pray, then, that the supreme motivation for obedience to the call of Christ to go is love for Him and nothing else. 2. Courage Paul made an earnest prayer request in his letter to the Ephesians: Pray also for me, that whenever I open my mouth, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the Gospel. When Peter and John were commanded to cease preaching and teaching in the name of Jesus, the early church prayed: Lord, enable your servants to speak your Word with great boldness. Pray that we will show courage in face of opposition. 3. A Deeper Relationship With God Moses instructed Joshua to meditate on God s law day and night and to be careful to obey all the commandments found there. Only then would his way be made prosperous and successful. It is hard to imagine that we could have a busier life than Jesus did, yet He consistently went to a secluded place to commune with His Father. Let s spend time alone with God and let Him speak to our hearts through his word and choosing. Personal Revival / Pray that you would be shown any sin in your life and given the strength to resist it (1 Cor. 10:13). Pray that you would be led to an ever deepening personal relationship with the Lord (Luke 10:27). 2
4. Steadfastness Discouragement is a favorite device of the devil. The temptation to have doubts about going or even while we are in Dominican Republic to question why you are there when things are tough and we are exhausted is common. Pray that we will follow Paul s instructions to the Corinthians: Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Pray for mental and spiritual commitment to serve God in Dominican Republic for the entire time we are there. 5. Disciples Christ commissioned His followers to go and make disciples of all nations. Pray that we will experience the joy of leading others to salvation, and teaching them to obey everything [Christ] commanded. 6. Wisdom And Knowledge The enemy is master in creating conflict to divide the team. When we are face conflict during this trip or need of wisdom to make decisions. Let s pray that we will have wisdom. James wrote, If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, Who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. James also described the characteristics of the wisdom of God:...first pure; then peace loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere. Pray we will be granted this wisdom and be filled] with the knowledge of His will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding when establishing priorities, facing decisions, and solving problems. Pray that we will have a trusting spirit and be open with each other and share anything that could hinder our attitude towards each other, the local people, the trip or even God. Pray for unity Ephesian 4:1 16. 7. For our Family to be strong Ask God to help us maintain a loving relationship that is an outstanding testimony to the grace of God. 8. For boldness in witness. And pray on my behalf, that utterance may be given to me in the opening of my mouth, to make known with boldness the mystery of the gospel Ephesians 6:19. Lord Remember your covenant and promises to Abraham. Promises which we are heir of them through your Son Jesus. You promised that you will bless all the families of the earth through Abraham (Genesis 12:1 12). Bless the people in Loma de Cabrera and Monte Cristo as we go to Dominican Republic. Bring them to you. Multiply the believers in these communities for your Glory. 9. For open doors. Devote yourselves to prayer, keeping alert in it with an attitude of thanksgiving; praying at the same time for us as well, that God will open up to us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Christ, for which I have also been imprisoned Colossians 4:2 3. 10. For protection. And that we will be rescued from perverse and evil men; for not all have faith 2 Thessalonians 3:2. 11. For God s guidance. So that I may come to you in joy by the will of God Romans 15:32. 12. For refreshment. And find refreshing rest in your company Romans 15:32. 13. That God s Word will spread. Finally, brethren, pray for us that the word of the Lord will spread rapidly and be glorified, just as it did also with you 2 Thes. 3:1. 14. Prayer for God's empowerment in our own lives for ministry Pray for right hearts and minds that we need. 15. Offering praise to the Father who will answer our prayers. 16. For the positive impact of the work in Loma de Cabrera and Monte Cristi Pray for Salvation and 3
God s Kingdom to come to these communities. 17. Salvation for the students families, especially for Julio Cesar and Victor Alberto. 18. Pray for the following different work that will be done. Pray that we will humbly serve in love and that we will everything with excellence. Pray for the logistics of getting this work done. Pray for the material we need; medicine, children crafts, outreach material, construction material (we still need $4,000 to cover the material cost to repair 6 houses): Worship/Teaching/Preaching Team Evangelization Team Vet Team Medical Team Children Team Reflective Tape Outreach Hospitality Team Transportation team Pastoral Team Mentoring Team Construction Team 19. Pray for effective ministry and humility and love as the team serve 20. Pray for good preparation for the Vet work and effective work among the ranch. 21. Pray for the needed Vet seminars to be given and to really make a difference in the lives of the ranchers and the communities 22. Pray that the ranchers, workers and people whom the team will minister to, will fill loved and accepted by us and God. 23. Pray for meaningful relationships be established and grow both within the team and with the people in DR. 24. Pray for wise planning 25. For effective presentation and teaching of the gospel. 26. Pray for each team member to be filled with love, faith and hope 27. For God s work to flourish in the DR and for the poor to become rich in faith. Ask the Lord to bring them hope and help them find employment that not only can sustain them, but also be meaningful. (Gal. 2:10 and Matthew 25:45 45). Pray for food, clean water, and health. Pray that they will hunger for God and find refuge in Him alone. Pray the communities and nation of Dominican Republic 28. The Nations of Dominican Republic Pray for a Christian vision for the nation. Pray for the local Christian to experience revival to serve and love the nation. Pray for a change in worldview and values which reflects more of traditional voodoo, catholic (saint worship) and animist beliefs than Biblical truth. Pray for President Danilo Medina and his cabinet. 29. For Revival in Dominican Republic / Pray that the Holy Spirit would be poured out on the people of Dominican Republic, bringing deep conviction of sin, especially against corruption, and ushering in an extended season of national repentance, conversion, pursuit of holiness, and social responsibility. Additionally, pray that any schemes of the Enemy to thwart God s plans and truth, in the nation, the church, or in people s home (include your home als0), would have no effect. 30. The Poor / Pray that the Lord would give individuals on welfare the opportunities and the 4
motivation to advance themselves off the welfare system. 31. The local Church / Pray for the Holy Spirit to raise up prayer teams, at all Bible believing churches, to pray for their pastor s protection from sin and demonic forces. (James 4:4 and 1 Peter 2:11) 32. The Families in Loma de Cabrera, Monte Cristi, Dajabon and surrounding towns / Pray for Christian fathers to rise up and become the servant leaders of their family. Pray that they would be a good example to their children & that Christ would help them to view their wife s needs equal or higher than their own. Pray for domestic violent to stop. 33. The Education System /It is ok to preach the gospel in the public schools but there aren t many bringing the gospels. Pray that godly men and women would be raised up to teach in the public schools bringing the good news of Jesus. Pray for the level of education to honor God. Where children can be taught how to love God and others. 34. The children Pray for the care and nurture of the children in these communities. There is extreme poverty pray for God to provide them their daily food. 35. Pray that God will break the addition to alcohol, drugs, sex trafficking, prostitution, homosexuality, pornography and other Addictions / There are many people who are addicted in these towns which we will be working, please pray for God to break through to them. 36. Community Institutions and local witch doctors in DR / Many businesses in the community are promoting practices which are evil (some unknowingly) the forces of evil (tarot card readers, churches of false religions, idol worship, death worship, gambling, lottery, prostitution bars, cabanas, etc.). Pray that God will reach these people and that the whole communities will be transformed to the glory of God. Pray in the authoritative name of Jesus Christ that the Lord would diminish its effectiveness of these evil influences. Meditate and commit to memory Mark 8:34 38 verse 34. Make sure to spend sometime in silent to let God speak to you. Think on in what situation and how God wants you to deny yourself, take up his cross and follow him. Write down what God brings to your mind and heart. Let this time be focused on God and your soul and heart condition. Ask him to restore and refresh your soul. Confess any sin. Receive his forgiveness and love. Allow the Holy Spirit to bring inner healing, joy, love and peace. Mark 8:34-38 New American Standard Bible (NASB) 34 And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. 35 For whoever wishes to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel s will save it. 36 For what does it profit a man to gain the whole world, and forfeit his soul? 37 For what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, the Son of Man will also be ashamed of him when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels. 5
