Spiritual community - A positive path for spiritual living August 2016 Minister's Message When was the last time you were passionate about anything? Passion is the catalyst for results, manifestation, and joy. If we are ever going to become satisfied about our lives it has to come through the willingness to get passionate about who we are - and what we are doing. Mediocrity (half-heartedness) rarely creates much excitement, let alone passion - we have to become excited about living - excited about who we are, what we do and how we do it - and if by some chance we aren't, then it is time to recreate ourselves. No one can do it for us - it is completely up to us! No one really holds us back, it is our thoughts and fears that take control of our destiny; become your biggest supporter and commit to reinventing who you are, and how you do YOU! Begin by thinking what would bring you that sense of happiness or drive to pursue your goals and dreams? What would it take for each of us to step forward and dedicate our time and energy to being happy, being successful, and well balanced? Believe in you - love you - honor you - encourage you through good thoughts and wiser choices. Take time to relax - take time to play - and take the time to turn within for guidance and peace. We want to thank everyone for coming out to the Usher Team Luncheon at Nick s Boathouse on July 17 th. We laughed, listened to some music (yes it could have been a little more upbeat), enjoyed food and drinks, and got to know each other a little better. Lila Harris was off to Orange Beach to teach a Scuba class afterward (no bottomless Mimosas for her). Susan Hinson joined our team and also joined us for lunch; we will be doing her usher training on August 14 th, so be sure to give her lots of extra hugs that day. Arlene and Dave Coughlin joined the usher team recently and were their usual groovy selves during our get together. Kathy Simpson has settled into her new apartment and loves it there. We were lucky enough to have her daughter Katie join us on Sunday from Walnut Hill she is adorable. Connie and John also joined us: Connie s art classes are full (awesome) and John says his grandson in North Carolina is doing great (also awesome). Stephanie Mickler recently got back from visiting her kids in Colorado and is happy to be back home. We all had a great time and are l looking forward to our next get together, thinking October. Sacred Service is a great way to get to know your fellow church members better, whether it s hospitability, our awesome musical group, maintenance crew, or chaplain and prayer team. So, if you ve been on the fence about becoming part of our Sacred Service teams, give it serious consideration and try something new.
