I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body and the life everlasting. Amen. *HYMN God Has Spoken by His Prophets No. 311 SCRIPTURE READING Mark 9:2-13 After six days Jesus took Peter, James and John with him and led them up a high mountain, where they were all alone. There he was transfigured before them. His clothes became dazzling white, whiter than anyone in the world could bleach them. And there appeared before them Elijah and Moses, who were talking with Jesus. Peter said to Jesus, Rabbi, it is good for us to be here. Let us put up three shelters one for you, one for Moses and one for Elijah. (He did not know what to say, they were so frightened.) Then a cloud appeared and covered them, and a voice came from the cloud: This is my Son, whom I love. Listen to him! Suddenly, when they looked around, they no longer saw anyone with them except Jesus. As they were coming down the mountain, Jesus gave them orders not to tell anyone what they had seen until the Son of Man had risen from the dead. They kept the matter to themselves, discussing what rising from the dead meant. And they asked him, Why do the teachers of the law say that Elijah must come first? Jesus replied, To be sure, Elijah does come first, and restores all things. Why then is it written that the Son of Man must suffer much and be rejected? But I tell you, Elijah has come, and they have done to him everything they wished, just as it is written about him. (Leader)... The word of God for the people of God. (People)... Thanks be to God. We recruited many volunteers and God blessed us with so many people that were never asked, yet came to us with loving hearts and willing hands and said, How can I help? I would read this letter in person but I would be crying like a baby by now they would be tears of joy. Thank you again Roser Family for all the opportunities you give us to serve our Risen Lord. This is the proven and effective way of making the gospel make sense to the unsaved. It is so rooted in the Scriptures, once you see it, you will forever wonder how you could have missed it. It is the biblical principle of bypassing the intellect (the place of argument) and speaking directly to conscience (the place of the knowledge of right and wrong) the way Jesus did. They train for over 50 hours in basic counseling and ministry as well as actively participate in their own Christian growth and effective sharing with others. They know how to listen, provide perspective, maintain total confidence and privacy, and walk with you through turbulent times. Please call the Church office at 941-778-0414 or contact JoAnne Moyer if you or someone you know would like to have a Stephen Minister or train to become a Stephen Minister.
