The Scottish Rite BULLETIN PUBLISHED BY THE VALLEY OF WILLIAMSPORT, PA September 2015 A Message from the Commander-in-Chief Brethren, September is here and we are inclined to start thinking about fall activities like football, hunting and the changing landscapes, from green and lush to brilliant and colorful foliage. Along with those changes comes raking leaves and even shoveling snow. But let s not jump the gun just yet. We still have a lot of time to enjoy Labor Day, fall activities, Thanksgiving and Christmas. Our Members Picnic is scheduled for Sunday, September 13, from 2:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at the Zafar Grotto, with dinner at 5:00 P.M. You can expect Ron and Jim s BBQ chicken, and John s hamburgers, hot dogs, baked beans and mac and cheese. Ill. Keith R. Tressler, 33º As always, there will be more food than can be eaten, and we will get the chance to enjoy each other s company during a lazy fall afternoon. Fall is also the time to begin thinking about our fraternity after the summer break. Our stated meeting is planned for Thursday, September 24, (Consistory only), and you can look for something special for the October meeting. Watch your bulletin for information about all upcoming events. Become engaged and experience the real benefits of brotherhood. The Howard Air Conditioner Project will be extremely valuable to the Membership, especially during late spring and early fall meetings, when it is unbearable in that part of the building. It will also enable the rental of that space to outside events in prime rental seasons like spring, summer, and fall. The Auditorium/Entertainment Fund has been established to bring events into the Scottish Rite Auditorium, thus utilizing the space and generating much needed income for the Valley, which hopefully will allow us to update the Auditorium and attract outstanding shows for you the membership and the community at large. Please consider supporting these funds if you can! Fraternally, Stephen M.
