Do those things which invite the Spirit into your life so you will have a better understanding of what will be Pray taught. Fast Have a willing heart, ready to obey the words of the prophets. DURING CONFERENCE Attend or view all the sessions Listen carefully not just to the speakers, but to the prayers and songs also. Keep notes, including any inspiration you might receive during conference. Listen earnestly for answers to the questions you have. 7 In five words or less, his talk was on: Color this suit and tie to match what President Monson was wearing today. Did you know that he taught for a time at the University of Utah, then began a career in publishing. His first job was with the Deseret News, where he became an advertising executive. What promises did he give? What warnings did he give? What scriptures did he share? Born: August 21, 1927 Current Age: 83 Married: Frances Beverly (Johnson) Children: 3 Occupation: Printer / Advertising Executive Favorite Dessert: Ice Cream - In December 1981, U.S. President Ronald Reagan appointed him to the President's Task Force for Private Sector Initiatives. He remained with the initiative until it completed its work in December 1982. - When he was born, there were fewer than 650,000 members of the church in the world, with most of them being based in the Western United States. When he became president, there were over 13 million members with the majority of the membership living outside the United States and Canada.

8 In five words or less, his talk was on: Did you know that he has an affection for birds, burnt almond fudge ice cream, and the color yellow? What promises did he give? What warnings did he give? What scriptures did he share? Born: May 31, 1933 Current Age: 77 Married: Kathleen Johnson Children: 6 Occupation: Educator Favorite Dessert: Burnt Almond Fudge ce Cream - He spent two years in the U.S. Air Force. - His father was a renowned chemist teaching at Princeton University. Mary, whose family joined the Church when she was 24, had been incarcerated in Berlin, Germany, for sharing the gospel. The night she was arrested, she wrote a letter to the judge and encouraged him to repent and save himself and family from great sorrow. The judge soon dropped the charges, and Mary was released. Henry and Mary married shortly thereafter.

9 In five words or less, his talk was on: Color this suit and tie to match what President Uchtdorf was wearing today. What promises did he give? What warnings did he give? What scriptures did he share? If it was love at first sight for Dieter, the same cannot be said for Harriet. Though they enjoyed learning to dance together, it was not until after he had completed his military duty and came back to Germany to begin his airline pilot training that she began to appreciate that he might be the right man. Born: November 6, 1940 Current Age: 70 Married: Harriet Reich Uchtdorf Children: 2 Occupation: Pilot Favorite Dessert:? - He is only the eleventh apostle to be born outside the United States. He is the second member of the First Presidency who is not a native English speaker. President Uchtdorf is the first German apostle in church history and was the first born outside of North America since the death of John A. Widtsoe in 1952. He is the first resident of a country outside the United States or Canada to be called to be a general authority who later became an apostle.
