WOW! What a Great turn out for our August Gathering. So thanks to all of you who came out to this. As you may or may not know our new location for our Monthly Gathering is at Charleston Board of Trade 1962-253rd St, Donnellson, IA 52625. This was decided by our members who were at the August Gathering as they have the better room for us. So for September and here on out we will be meeting here. Cheryle and I will not be at the September Gathering due to our Son getting married, so Boomer will be taking this for me. Remember that the following week September 17 th we will have our road trip to Alton, IL. This will be rain or shine, 2, 3 or 4 wheels, just come and have a nice ride or drive to Alton, IL. I am sure I am forgetting something, and again I apologize that I have not be able to focus a lot on our GW things with everything going on with our home project. I will tell you that thanks to John and Jim s help, we are progressing on this. I don t know what I would have done with out their help. WE ARE ON THE WEB http://iowachaptere.weebly.com (Continued on page 2) GWRRA Meeting September 10 th @ 5:30 at Charleston Board of Trade, Charleston, IA (Under the water tower) Host: Mike & Linda Huppenbauer

THE SOARING EAGLE PAGE 2 (Continued from page 1) I am still hopeful that we will have things completed by the end of October or real close to being finished. Ruth Henry won the ticket drawing for the free dinner at the September gathering. Another big Chapter event will be our 29 th annual Sweetheart Weekend. This will be February the 11 th and 12 th. We have another great Theme which I will let you know in the coming months. You will not want to miss this. Be sure to mark your calendars. Well for now have a wonderful month and we will see you all in October. Until we meet again, You re Chapter E Director Kevin Miller AUGUST GATHERING AT THE BOARD OF TRADE CHARLESTON, IA

THE SOARING EAGLE PAGE 3 RONALD MCDONALD CORNER We had a great day for the IOWA E Ronald McDonald Ride to Iowa City, IA on Sunday August 7 th. We had 8 chapters from across Iowa that participated. Our chapter had a total of 372 pounds of tabs (11 boxes). The total for all the chapters was 993.3 pounds. The total money donated from all the chapters was $1,715.00. Our chapter donated $855.00. The total for toys and outfits donated was 371 items. There were 6 to 7 totes full of miscellaneous items, such as soaps, shampoos, meals, laundry soap, and other household items. FYI: Here is some interesting information. DO YOU KNOW how many tabs it takes to make a pound?? It takes 1,267 tabs. So doing the math we (chapter E) had 471,324 tabs and the total for all chapters was 1258511.1 tabs. WAY TO GO GUYS!!! NICE JOB!! Now we have a big job ahead of us for the 2017 year. We cannot do this without the help of everyone no matter how small or how big of effect everyone gives. God Bless all of you. Kevin has asked Val and I to look into the Toys for Needy Children. (as we have stated before we would help if able), with that being said the dinner has been set for December 10, 2016 at God s Way Christian Church in Keokuk, IA. I was wondering if anyone would be interested in riding in God s Portion Day Parade, in Denmark, IA. in Oct. and the Christmas Parade in Burlington, IA the Friday after Thanksgiving. Last year it was just Mike and I. We will just drop both parades if no one is interested in riding. Just let Kevin or me know.
