New Children s Programming for Sunday Morning and Wednesday Afternoon beginning in September!!! Nursery: Ages 6 weeks-2 years It s never too early to teach children about God. We believe that Christian faith is essential to early childhood development. Frolic is the first curriculum of its kind to connect developmental and spiritual milestones for the youngest of children starting at birth (yes, really!). Preschool: Ages 3-K5 & Elementary: Ages 1 st Grade-4 th Grade Digging Into the Bible in One Year takes kids on a whirlwind journey from Genesis to Revelation. Kids experience a relationship with God through the eyes of ordinary Bible people. Kids will discover that they re a lot like people God has always loved and worked through.

Beginning September 13 th from 5:30-6:15 Psalm 34:14b. "Do good! Seek peace and go after it!" Hero Central takes kids on awesome adventures alongside some of their favorite Bible heroes to discover the qualities that make us truly heroic in God. Hero Central uses epic music, spectacular science, crafty crafts, heroic recreation, and fantastic Bible stories to help kids (and leaders) discover their strength in God! Our Wednesday night fellowship suppers will begin again on September 13 th at 6 pm. Please make sure to RSVP each week so that we will know how to prepare. The Evergreen Kids Ministry needs you! As we prepare for the new school year, we need our church family to pray for all of our children as well as the adults and youth who will be serving them. If you would like more information on ways you can get involved and make a difference in the life of our children and the life of our church, please get in touch with Katherine! katherine@evergreenpres.net

JULY AT MAMA TINA S The summer is drawing to a close for the children of the neighborhood around Mama Tina s. There is a school bus out front of the house, collecting TRULY needed supplies for school, and so there is quite a collection of people and materials coming into the bus. Interestingly enough, the bulk of the supplies brought thus far are coming from those who need help the most. Oh yes, some of us are responding, but as people arrive for meals, there comes a pack of pencils, or crayons, construction paper, or several notebooks. It reminds me of the Widow s mite. You remember that wonderful parable, right? A woman, with very little, gives graciously of what she has, without making a scene of it or wanting credit for the effort. As we go to vote, or worship, or play these next two months, may we take a Moment to look for ways we can help other CHILDREN OF GOD have ENOUGH. That is all most of those in need are searching for.just ENOUGH. Blessings! Dee P.S. MAMA TINA S is CELEBRATING A DECADE OF SERVING with a cookout challenge on Saturday August 26 th!!! IF YOU ARE INTO BBQ COOK OFFS, and you are a person who loves to compete, contact us Dee and David (334) 718-9574, and we will get you Signed up TO COOK OFF FOR MAMA TINA S! Would you like to join a fun group of ladies for an evening of fellowship while playing Bunco? No skill needed. Once a month, first Thursday at 6:00pm, beginning in September at various homes of our members. Please call Ellen Dawson at: 334-791-3179 or email at: Ellendawson1@aol.com

Helen B. Bennett Scholarship Application Evergreen s Helen Boyer Bennett Scholarship Fund was established in 1968 as a memorial to Helen Boyer Bennett to provide financial assistance to our college students. Any Evergreen member or affiliate is eligible to apply for a scholarship. Awards are determined by the applicant s needs, the number of recipients and the amount available for distribution. Due to investment rules, we will not receive the funds until July. Therefore, scholarships will be awarded in August. Recipients are not obligated to repay these scholarships. They are awarded in love as part of our Christian ministry. However, we encourage former recipients, as well as others, to contribute to this fund. All gifts (memorials, etc.) are invested as part of the principal; thus, the initial gift is perpetuated and can be effectively used regardless of the amount. Because distribution is made only from earnings, we have been able to award several dozen scholarships since 1968 while the fund itself has grown to over $35,000. A notation on the check will direct your contribution to the right account. Memorials are acknowledged, and interested persons notified. Applicants may mail the form below to the church office. Please indicate if you are receiving other scholarships. All applications are due to the church office by August 18, 2017.
