Temescal Palms Masonic Magazine TB No. 314 F&AM Oct 1, 2018 Volume XX, Issue 9 FROM THE MASTER I sat down to write this article and I found it a bit difficult to do so. Normally, I'd write about how well the officers have been doing (which they have been), I'd say how active the lodge has been and is still going to be, how fall is upon us now and the weather will be chillier and how I'm going to miss summer. While these things are all true, I can't help but think of our dearly departed brother, Tom Ott. Tom laid down his working tools on September 13th. Brother Ott was one of the first officers I met when I joined this lodge. While it saddens me to think of his family's loss and the lodge's loss of a brother, I am reminded of a that portion in the third degree lecture which states "...that we may be prepared to welcome death...not as a grim tyrant, but, as a kind messenger to translate us from that imperfect to that all perfect, glorious and celestial lodge above where the Supreme Grand Master of the Universe forever presides..." Soft and safe to thee, my brother, to thy resting place... FROM THE SENIOR WARDEN Greetings from the West: Some of the brothers recently presented formal papers as part of The Lodge System of Masonic Information for Candidates. This was the second in a series of four presentations and was directed to Entered Apprentices. Please watch for announcements concerning the third session, directed to Fellowcraft Masons, and expected to be offered soon. In recent days, I have been enjoying the program Inside the Freemasons, currently available on Netflix. While I am a bit uncomfortable with the nature and amount of some of the information that is being disclosed, the program claims that the Grand Lodge Do not go where the path may lead. Go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. of England expressly granted permission of the program s producers to include that information. After watching two episodes, I have been particularly interested in some of the similarities and some of the differences with the practices of our Lodge, and noted the frequent use of the Festive Board in England. Members are continuing to meet at the Lodge at 6:30 p.m. every Tuesday evening. If you have been joining us, please continue to do so. If you have been away from the Lodge for a while, come on by any Tuesday evening between 6:30 and 7:30 p.m., get reacquainted with some of the old members, and meet some of the new members and their guests. I am continuing to reach out to the Entered Apprentice Masons and the Fellowcrafts to see how I might be of assistance in their progress through the degrees of Masonry. My goal is to make sure that everyone, particularly those that have degrees to complete, are connected to the Lodge. If we have yet to speak, or you have questions, feel free to contact me at my office (951-738-1337) or via e-mail (dickmanholt@earthlink.net). Fraternally, 2 John G. Dickman, Senior Warden

As well, the Lodge Calendar and Posts by the Brethren are available to keep everyone updated on what s happening at YOUR Lodge. Financially, your Lodge is doing well, but more than money, we want to see YOU!
