OPEN THE BIBLE: ISAIAH 1:18
18 Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet (a bright-red color), they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson (a rich deep red color), they shall be as wool (the fine, soft). Isaiah 1:18, King James Version

COME AND BE CLEAN
INTRODUCTION How strange that God invites people to come to Him! Isaiah called to invite people to Come and Be Clean. What s this invitation all about?
COME AND BE CLEAN 1. An Invitation to Reason at an Unreasonable Time.
18 Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet (a bright-red color), they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson (a rich deep red color), they shall be as wool (the fine, soft). Isaiah 1:18, King James Version
2 Hear (listen), O heavens, and give ear (pay attention), O earth: for the Lord has spoken, I have nourished (became great) and brought up children, and they have rebelled against Me. 3 The ox (bull) knows his owner, and the ass (donkey) his master's crib (manger, feeding trough): but Israel does not know, My people do not consider (understand). Isaiah 1:2-4, King James Version
4 Ah (oh) sinful nation, a people laden (loaded down) with iniquity (guilt of sin), a seed of evildoers (a group of children doing evil), children that are corrupters (destroyers): they have forsaken the Lord, they have provoked (hated) the Holy One of Israel to anger, they are gone away backward (turned from Him). Isaiah 1:2-4, King James Version
5 Why should you be stricken (punished) any more (again)? you will revolt (rebellion) more and more: the whole head is sick, and the whole heart faint (weak). Isaiah 1:5, King James Version
6 From the sole (bottom) of the foot even to the head there is no soundness (not a healthy spot) in it; but wounds (pains), and bruises, and putrefying (fresh) sores (painful): they have not been closed, neither (not) bound up (bandage), neither (not) mollified (softened, i.e. cleansed) with ointment (oil). Isaiah 1:6, King James Version
COME AND BE CLEAN 2. An Invitation from God at an Ungodly Time.
18 Come now, and let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet (a bright-red color), they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson (a rich deep red color), they shall be as wool (the fine, soft). Isaiah 1:18, King James Version
Isaiah 1:4, King James Version
9 Except the Lord of hosts (Lord All-Powerful) had left to us a very small remnant (a survivor, i.e. a few people to live), we should have been as Sodom, and we should have been like to Gomorrah (completely destroyed like the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah). 10 Hear (listen) the word of the Lord, you rulers of Sodom; give ear (listen) to the law of our God, you people of Gomorrah. Isaiah 1:9-10, King James Version
The Destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah
COME AND BE CLEAN 3. An Invitation for Cleansing at a Sinful Time.
7 Purge (cleanse) me with hyssop (A small bush with bunches of small, white flowers), and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Psalm 51:7, King James Version
He will forgive and cleanse all who come to Him.
9 If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (wrongdoings, sins). 1 John 1:9, King James Version
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the First Begotten (firstborn) of the dead, and the Prince of the kings of the earth. To Him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in His own blood, Revelation 1:5, King James Version
