Commentary on the Treatise The Means and Actions which Multiply Rewards-Part 3 1 Explained b y: Shaikh Yahya bin Ali al-hajuri (may Allah preserve him) Transcribed and Translated by : Faisal bin Abdul Qaadir bin Hassan Abu Sulaymaan Text: :...From the means to multiply rewards is for a servant to have good Islam... Commentary : That is far removed from hypocrisy and also making apparent one's deeds. The one who does not make good his Islam is the hypocrite. Text :... a good methodology/path Commentary : Following the Sunnah and acting upon it. Text :...For verily Allah, the Exalted is Allah, is Most Ready to appreciate and to reward, Most Forbearing Commentary : [Allah says]: ما ی ف ع ل ا الله ب ع ذ اب ك م إ ن ش ك ر ت م و آم نت م و ك ان ا الله ش اك ر ا ع ل یم ا Why should Allah punish you if you have thanked (Him) and have believed in Him. And Allah is Ever All-Appreciative (of good), All-Knowing [4:147] Whoever is grateful to Allah, Allah will appreciate him. Whoever remembers Allah, Allah will remember him. A person's loftiness is by His remembrance and gratitude. Text :...This is due to what is obligatory upon them of having more precaution [from sins] and the obligation of having more gratitude to Allah for specifying them with blessings 1 The source of the audio: http://www.sh-yahia.net/nwe_sounds/durus/business%20that%20doubles%20the%20reward/003.mp3

Commentary : Correct. Every time a person is honoured by his Lord through knowledge and bounties, and thanks Allah, then Allah will increase him in His bounty. And (remember) when your Lord proclaimed: "If you give thanks (by accepting Faith and worshipping none but Allah), I will give you more (of My Blessings) [14:7] This increase is either in this world or the hereafter. Text :...From the means to multiply reward is charity from pure earnings as that comes in the Texts Commentary : [It comes in the Hadith]: م ا ت ص دق أ ح د ب ص د ق ة م ن ط یب - و لا ی ق ب ل ا الله إ لا ال ط یب - إ لا أ خ ذ ه ا ال رح م ن ب ی م ین ه و إ ن ك ان ت ت م ر ة ف ت ر ب و ف ي ك ف ال رح م ن ح تى ت ك ون أ ع ظ م م ن ال ج ب ل ك م ا ی ر بي أ ح د ك م ف ل وه أ و ف ص یل ه If anyone gives as Sadaqa the equivalent of a date from that (earning) earned honestly, for Allah accepts that which is lawful, the Lord would accept it with His Right Hand, and even if it is a date, it would foster in the Hand of the lord, as one of you fosters his colt, till it becomes bigger than a mountain [Saheeh Muslim no. 1014] Another version mentions mount uhud. Charity is affirmed and its reward is multiplied. Also in this is the eagerness to search for good provisions. إ ن ا الله ط یب لا ی ق ب ل إ لا ط یب ا Allah the Almighty is Good and accepts only that which is good [Muslim] If you give charity from haram wealth, Allah will not accept it. [Allah says]: إ نم ا ی ت ق بل ا الله م ن ال م تق ین Verily, Allah accepts only from those who are Al-Muttaqun [5:27] Connected to this is that person is sinful for earning haram wealth.

[Then the Shaikh mentions some lines of poetry in regards to that]. Text :...From the means is the honorable times like Ramadan, the Ten Days of Dhul-Hijjah, and the likes Commentary : Correct. The author begins with the excellence of time. In the last nights of Ramadan is much good and Laylatul-Qadr is more in virtue. Verily! We have sent it (this Quran) down in the night of Al-Qadr (Decree). And what will make you know what the night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is? The night of Al-Qadr (Decree) is better than a thousand months (i.e. worshipping Allah in that night is better than worshipping Him a thousand months, (i.e. 83 years and 4 months) [97:1-3] Worship in Laytaul-Qadr is better than eighty-three years. Connected with that is that sins are expiated on Laylatul-Qadr. Whoever spends the night of Lailat Al-Qadr in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, he will be forgiven his previous sins [Bukhari and Muslim] This is virtue of the time. [Allah says]: و ال ف ج ر - و ل ی ال ع ش ر By the dawn. By the ten nights (i.e. the first ten days of the month of Dhul-Hijjah) [89:1-2] And in the Hadith: ما من أیام العمل الصالح فیها أحب إلى االله من هذه الا یام " یعني أیام العشر قالوا : یا رسول االله ولا الجهاد في سبیل االله قال : " ولا الجهاد في سبیل االله إلا رجل خرج بنفسه وماله فلم یرجع من ذلك بشيء There are no days during which the righteous action is so pleasing to Allah than these days (i.e., the first ten days of Dhul-Hijjah)." He was asked: "O Messenger of Allah, not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah?" He

replied, "Not even Jihad in the Cause of Allah, except in case one goes forth with his life and his (ﷺ) property and does not return with either of them [Bukhari] Narrated by Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) and reported in Bukhari. Text :...Also from the means is the honorable places Commentary : Yes, the Proof is the Hadith of the Prophet (ﷺ) that three places of prayer have more reward than others: صلاة في م سجدي أفض ل م ن ألف صلاة فیما سواه إ لا المسج د الحرام وصلاة في المسج د الحرام أفض ل م ن. مي ة ألف صلاة فیما س واه Prayer in my Masjid is better than one thousand prayers in other than it except Masjid al-haram. The prayer in Masjid ul-haram is better than one hundred thousand prayers in other than it [Saheeh Targheeb no. 1173]. Text :...Worship in the times which the Legislator encouraged to perform them [in], like the last part of the night, fasting the virtuous days Commentary : [Allah says:] ت ت ج اف ى ج ن وب ه م ع ن ال م ض اج ع ی د ع ون ر به م خ و ف ا و ط م ع ا و م ما ر ز ق ن اه م ی نف ق ون - ف لا ت ع ل م ن ف س ما أ خ ف ي ل ه م من ق رة أ ع ی ن ج ز اء ب م ا ك ان وا ی ع م ل ون Their sides forsake their beds, to invoke their Lord in fear and hope, and they spend (charity in Allah's Cause) out of what We have bestowed on them. No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy as a reward for what they used to do [32:16-17] This proves the great multiplication of their rewards due to His statement: No person knows what is kept hidden for them of joy. And the greatness of their provision. Text :...From the means of multiplying the reward is the actions which are righteous during the times of personal opposition or external opposition

Commentary : This is also good speech. It is correct. How many people are in the places of business and the people are busy with their wealth etc. and he makes remembrance of Allah. The virtue of this comes in the dhikr in the market: Whoever states in the marketplace: There is none worthy of worship except Allah, Alone, without partner, to Him belongs the dominion, and to Him is all the praise, He gives life and causes death, and He is Living and does not die, in His Hand is the good, and He has power over all things, Allah shall record a million good deeds for him, wipe a million evil deeds away from him, and build a house in Paradise for him [Saheeh Targheeb no. 1694 ] An author has written a treatise entitled The Trustworthy Statement in Regards to the Authentication of the Hadith of 2 (القول الموثوق في تصحیح حدیث السوق) Market the The hadith with all its routes is Hasan. Due to the ignorance of the people, a person obtains this great reward. Due to the heedlessness of the people, them being busy with their wealth, earning their wealth, etc. He obtains a great reward. Likewise, the night prayer. People are sleeping and in heedlessness. Such a person rises from his side, from his sleep [to worship Allah]. Likewise Salatul-Duha when the heat is severe. It comes in the Hadith: ص لا ة الا واب ین ح ین ت ر م ض ال ف ص ال The prayer of those who are penitent is observed when your weaned camels feel the heat of the sun [Muslim] The people are busy and in their work. So he turns to Allah at a time people are heedless. Thus his reward is multiplied. Yes". Text :...Oppositions المعارضات) means the preoccupations. Also from the (الدواعي) means actions and (المعارضات) Commentary : ) is worship during the times of bloodshed. [It comes in the Hadith]: 2 This book was written by Shaikh Saleem bin Eid al-hilali (may Allah preserve him)

Worshiping during the period of widespread turmoil is like emigration towards me [Saheeh Muslim no. 2948] This is because bloodshed is a cause to turn away from worship and righteous action. ( ر ج (ال ه is fitan, fighting, and when you find sittings full of he said and she said (gossip). Likewise, when there is tightness of the chest. The one who busies with worship has a great reward. This is because the causes to turn away from an action are severe. Also in the situation where there are a lot of amusements and [people are engaged in amusements] and a person turns towards worship. Then in this case his reward is great [words unclear]. A person should not be busied from the obedience of Allah. His reward will be great. Who, when afflicted with calamity, say: "Truly! To Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return." They are those on whom are the Salawat (i.e. blessings, etc.) (i.e. who are blessed and will be forgiven) from their Lord, and (they are those who) receive His Mercy, and it is they who are the guided-ones. Every time a person is afflicted with a calamity he will rewarded for its occurrence or happiness when it is removed. So he busies himself in righteous actions, turns to Allah, and he will have a greater reward. Text :...The examples of this are very many; however, this is a principle Commentary : He (the author) mentioned some examples. Yes, both place and time [are causes for the multiplication of reward] like Masjid ul-haram or the last ten nights of Ramadan or the ten days of Dhul Hijjah. Connected with the time and place is the person performing the action with sincerity and do so correctly. All four aspects can be in a situation from one person. [End of Tape no. 3]
