Morrison Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church and Band Concert Preservice Music In Excelsis Deo An Early English Christmas Lullaby for Christmas O Christmas Carols Listen to the Season A Christmas Classic Band Gathering Rite My Soul in Stillness Waits (CWS 703) The congregation will sing the refrain. We will sing the verses as follows: v. 1: solo v. 2 women v. 3 men v. 4 all Stand M: The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you. C: And also with you. CONFESSION OF SINS M: We have come into the presence of God, who created us to love and serve him as his dear children. But we have disobeyed him and deserve only his wrath and punishment. Therefore, let us confess our sins to him and plead for his mercy. C: Merciful Father in heaven, I am altogether sinful from birth. In countless ways I have sinned against you and do not deserve to be called your child. But trusting in Jesus, my Savior, I pray: Have mercy on me according to your unfailing love. Cleanse me from my sin, and take away my guilt. M: God, our heavenly Father, has forgiven all your sins. By the perfect life and innocent death of our Lord Jesus Christ, he has removed your guilt forever. You are his own dear child. May God give you strength to live according to his will. C: Amen. C: refrain of 703(sung) For you, O Lord, my soul in stillness waits, truly my hope is in you. Prayer of the Day M: Let us pray. Stir up your power, O Lord, and come. Take away the burden of our sins and make us ready for the celebration of your birth, that we may receive you in joy and serve you

always; for you live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. C: (spoken) Amen. This Child, Emmanuel O come, O come, Emmanuel, and ransom captive Israel, that mourns in lonely exile here, until the Son of God appear. O come, thou Dayspring, come and cheer our spirits by thine advent here; disperse the gloomy clouds of night, and death s dark shadows put to flight. Part Two: Fulfilled By The Lord Glory To God The Angels Sing Low in a humble manger, little Lord Jesus lay, Watched by the virgin mother, there on a bed of hay; Keeping her loving vigil, far from the worldly throngs, When thru the night came ringing glorious angel songs. Little the loving mother, dreamed of its meaning then, How He should die on Calv ry, die for the sins of men; Down thru the weary ages, out from that manger bed, Streams all the light of heaven, soon o er the world to spread. Glory to God, the angels sing, Praises to Christ, the newborn King, Peace be on earth, goodwill to men, Hear we the angels sing again, Glory to God, the angels sing; Praises to Christ, the newborn King, Peace be on earth, goodwill to men, goodwill to men. Hallelujah Chorus, From The Messiah Hallelujah! For the Lord God Omnipotent reigneth. The kingdom of the world is become the Kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ. And he shall reign forever and ever. Forever and ever, Hallelujah! King of Kings, and Lord of Lords, And he shall reign forever and ever. King of Kings, forever and ever. And Lords of Lords, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! and Band 3

Silent Night Silent night, holy night! All is calm, all is bright, Round yon virgin mother and child! Holy infant, so tender and mild, Sleep in heavenly peace, Sleep in heavenly peace. Stille Nacht, heilige Nacht! Alles schlaft, einsam wacht nur das traute, hoch heilege Paar. Holder Knabe mit lockigem Haar, Schlaf im himmlischer Ruh, Schlaf im himmlischer Ruh. Silent night, holy night! Son of God, love s pure light Radiant beams from thy holy face, with the dawn of redeeming grace, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth, Jesus, Lord, at thy birth. Silent night, holly night! Wondrous star, lend thy light; With the angels let us sing, alleluia to our King; Christ the Savior is born, Christ the Savior is born. How Great Our Joy While by the sheep we watched at night, glad tidings brought an angel bright. Refrain: How great our joy! Joy, joy, joy! Praise we the Lord in heav n on high! Praise we the Lord in heav n on high! There shall be born, so he did say, in Bethlehem a Child today. Refrain There shall the Child lie in a stall, this Child who shall redeem us all. Refrain Offering Musical Offering Come to the Manger Band Prayer of the Church 4 O Antiphons The Great O Antiphons of Advent have been cherished for centuries by Christian worshipers. Each one consists of a title given to Christ in the Old Testament and a petition asking him to come and fulfill the Scriptural promise or prophecy. The congregation will sing the responses. M: Let us pray

Emmanuel, our king and our Lord, the anointed of the nations and their Savior, Come and save us, O Lord our God. C: (sung) Oh, come, Oh, come, Emmanuel, And ransom captive Israel, That mourns in lonely exile here Until the Son of God appear. M: O Wisdom, proceeding from the mouth of the most High, pervading and permeating all creation, mightily order all things; come and teach us the way of prudence. C: (sung) Oh, come, our wisdom from on high, Who ordered all things mightily; To us the path of knowledge show, And teach us in her ways to go. M: O Adonai and ruler of the house of Israel, who appeared to Moses in the burning bush and gave him the Law on Sinai; come with an outstretched arm and redeem us. C: (sung) Oh, come, oh, come, our Lord of might, Who to your tribes on Sinai's height In ancient times gave holy law, In cloud and majesty and awe. M: O root of Jesse, standing as an ensign before the peoples, before whom all kings are mute, to whom the nations will do homage; come quickly to deliver us. C: (sung) Oh, come, o rod of Jesse's stem. From every foe deliver them That trust your mighty pow'r to save: Bring them in victory through the grave. M: O Key of David and scepter of the house of Israel, you open and no one can close, you close and no one can open; come and rescue the prisoners who are in darkness and the shadow of death. C: (sung) Oh, come, O Key of David, come, And open wide our heav'nly home; Make safe the way that leads on high, And close the path to misery. 5

M: O Dayspring, splendor of light everlasting, come and enlighten those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death. C: (sung) Oh, come, our Dayspring from on high, And cheer us by your drawing nigh; Disperse the gloomy clouds of night And death's dark shadows put to flight M: O King of the nations, the ruler they long for, the cornerstone for uniting all people, come and save us all, whom you formed out of clay.
